The Tall Ship Races Fredrikstadwww.tallshipsfredrikstad.no

Next summer the town of Fredrikstad, Norway, will host the Tall Ships Races, and welcome over 100 tall ships from some 30 countries. A fantastic gathering not just for sail-ing enthusiasts, but for anyone interested in history too, as the event will coincide with the 200th anniversary celebra-tions of Norway’s constitution. Fredrikstad, the second port of call for the 2014 edition, has a long maritime tradition - it was once Norway’s largest schooner town, home to 180 vessels. Come and see these majestic ships as they moor once again right in Fredrikstad’s centre, just like they used to a hundred years ago, and take part in the huge street party Fredrikstad will throw for the occasion.

Galleri F 15 is one of Norway’s oldest art institutions with a rich tradition of conveying contemporary art. The gallery blazes new trails in the art world, without more traditional venues. They display a fair representation of two- and three-dimensional visual arts, as well as hand crafted articles. In addition, there are both collective and individual shows. The gallery café offers fresh and exciting dishes, and the famous Alby pastry is baked every day. The nature and the area around is another experience worth enjoying.
