DescriptionLinkages is a client centered employment initiative that welcomesthe involvement of non-profit community based agencies in helpingyouth from a variety of educational and social backgrounds achievetheir career and employment goals. Expected client outcomes are:return to school to complete academic upgrading; enter skillstraining; continued employment; or self-employment. Eligibility forYouth

Participant Requirements:· Priority will be given to youth age 18-30 years that have notcompleted post-secondary training or youth age 18-30 years thathave completed Level II and have been out of Level II a minimum ofsix months. Consideration will be given to individuals over age 30where the agency and the department determine that the person is asuitable participant for the program.· Linkages will assist Non-EI eligible participants who have not madea successful transition to the labour force, as well as EI eligibleparticipants who are experiencing difficulty in transitioning to thelabour force, currently have limited work experience, difficultymaintaining employment, have obtained sporadic or seasonalpositions or are working less than 20 hours per week with little or nochance of increased employment

The recently released program evaluation highlighted how the RightHere, Right Now (RHRN) drop-in counselling program has provided anecessary stop gap for women awaiting traditional mental healthservices within the region. 32 per cent of women who utilized theservice were on waitlists for “traditional†mental healthservices, with a mean wait time of 15.5 months. The average lengthof the RHRN service, from intake through the wait time and acompleted counselling session was 90 minutes.

Located at 170 Cashin Avenue Extension, the Women’s Centre isfully wheelchair accessible, has free parking, and is convenientlylocated close to several bus stops. Women are welcome to drop byon clinic days, no referral or appointment is necessary. For moreinformation, please contact our clinical team lead counsellor, DanaWarren at (709) 753-0220.

The Mental Health and Addictions Program introduces"DOORWAYS" - Walk-In Counselling Service

The Mental Health and Additions Program offers single session walk-in services. The service will be provided by our team of MentalHealth Clinicians, including Mental Health Social Workers, Nurses,and Addictions Counselors.

Single session therapy services are available on a first come, firstserved basis, for those who feel the need to speak to a mental healthclinician right away.

What can I expect?

You will meet with a mental health clinician for a single session(approximately 1 hour) to address a mental health and/or addictionsissue.

The following are some examples of what can be discusses:depression, anxiety, bullying coping, grief/loss, addictions,relationship issues and/or stress.

* Please not that this is not an emergency service. Individuals experiencing a mental health crisis should proceed to thenearest hospital or emergency department.

Please note our new hours of operation:
