After accepting this f inancial blessing and completing the five semester program in Georgia I plan to return to Liberty for my senior year. 3 years down and 3 to go! This period of learning and submission in my life will only better equip me for the time when God will call on me to use these skills for his glory. I have learned this past semester the incomparable value of relationships: to God, to family, to friends, to the unreached, and to you! I have also learned each of these relations require a certain amount of work and time. I am spending this summer lavishing my time with family and preparing for my shift in training. It’s easy to get caught up in ME and the daily grind, but be reminded of those relationships you value most and take some time to invest in the most important relationship of all. (God’s Thunderin’-Trumpet Blowin’ Missionary Pilot - Class of 2014)

#4July 2011

Great news! On June 18, 2011 I flew to KFCI and

after proving myself both knowledgeable and capable to

the flight examiner I was approved and certified as a Pri-

vate Pilot with Instrument Rating. This allows me greater

flexibility to fly in weather and through the clouds safely

and legally. Most missions organizations require pilots tohave both an Instrument Rating and Commercial License.

With a successful and rewarding conclusion to my third

year studying at Liberty University the Lord has called

me to shift gears for a time. Georgia has a scholarship

program for successful high school students to enter a

Georgia college for tuition at no cost. If I earn my degree

at Liberty I will be disqualified from Georgia’s HOPE

program. After struggling with the thought of leaving my

new Virginia home I took a big leap of faith and decided

to leave Liberty for the time it takes me to finish an

Associates in Aviation Mechanics in Georgia. Middle

Georgia college will help me earn the FAA’s Airframe and

Powerplant certificate, which will be extremely beneficial

I visited the Middle

Georgia College

aviation campus in

Eastman, Ga. The

state of the art

mechanics facilities

allow an excellent

environment for

learning at KEZM.

My instructor and I

with Verizon’s

Gulfstream IV after

passing my

Instrument Check

Ride. I am now

certified by the

government to fly

through clouds.

A collection of missionaries and

missionary hopefuls gather for a

weekend mentorship retreat called

Next Steps. The humility of the mis-

sionaries was overwhelming as we

recalled the daily value of the gospel.

The US Navy’s Blue Angels

performed at Lynchburgairport at the end of the

semester.

The heart-stopping

performance thrilled and

inspired the thousands in

attendance.

New Tribes missionaries Richard

Schweinsberg and Darryl Palmer

mentor me during the retreat.

Darryl and his family are very

reliant on aviation while

ministering on his isolated island.

Steve Saint shares with Liberty at

convocation on how his father’s

murderer is now one of his closest

friends. He encourages students that

sacrificing to God’s will is the most

 joyous and fulfilling experience.

Best selling author of “Radical,”

David Platt, pushes 8,000 students

to abandon comfortable

middle class American

Christianity and write God a

“blank check.”
