Christopher Andrews

Having completed the MA Journalism course at the University of Ulster, Christopher has recently started a job with ITN's regional news channel in Northern Ireland, UTV. 

In 2010, Christopher from Belfast, graduated from Queen's University with a first class honours degree in Politics. During his undergraduate studies Christopher was assistant editor of the SU Magazine.

Lalita Augustine

Lalita completed the PgDip Multimedia Journalism course at Glasgow Caledonian University and has undertaken work experience at a number of publications including The Big Issue and The List magazine.

Lalita is currently on the graduate trainee scheme at the Glasgow Evening Times and Herald newspapers.

Lee Bell

Whilst completing the fast-track Newspaper Journalism course at noSWeat Journalism Training, Lee completed placements at Angel magazine, the Camden New Journal Newspaper, the West End Extra and the Islington Tribune.

Lee, who is currently freelancing for foodepedia.co.uk and City & Angel Magazine, will be completing a three week internship with CNET UK at the end of September.

Graeme Benson

Graeme worked as an English language teacher for ten years before he decided to take the plunge and pursue a career in journalism.

He has recently completed the fast-track Newspaper Journalism course at The Sheffield College, Norton College and has undertaken work experience at the Rotherham Advertiser and Sheffield Star

Ben is working as a freelance reporter at Autosport and Motorsport News covering national motorsport events.

He is currently building a VW campervan and plans to tour Europe as a freelance reporter.

Christian Campbell

Christian completed the PgDip Newspaper Journalism course at the University of Central Lancashire.

Christian gained experience at several publications and blogged about the Manchester riots which took place in August. One photo he tweeted of the riots generated over 1,200 views in 90 minutes.

Chiara Clarke

Chiara realised her aspirations to become a journalist during a gap year working for Christians in Sport.

Emma Clifford

Since completing the MA Multimedia Journalism course at Glasgow Caledonian University, Emma has been freelancing as a community reporter for Clyde Press.

She has also been volunteering with Sunny Govan Community Radio and working with BBC Radio Scotland working as a content assistant for Macaulay & Co.

Tamsin Eames

After Tamsin completed the fast-track Newspaper Journalism course at News Associates in Manchester, she received a year-long journalism traineeship at ITV Wales.

Christine Fashugba

Christine, from London, developed a passion for journalism whilst she completed a journalism course at the Catch 22 academy. She completed four internships through the social enterprise at Trinity Mirror, Emap, Economist.com and BBC Magazines.

Claire French

Claire graduated from Roehampton University in 2010 with a 2:1 in Sociology with Journalism and News Media. While at university, Claire regularly blogged about politics, social policy and culture.

During the general election in May 2010, the Observer named her as one of the best political tweeters.

Claire is currently working as a freelance newsroom journalist at ITV Meridian.

Ryan Gallagher

Ryan graduated from the University of Abertay Dundee with a first class honours degree in Media, Culture and Society in 2009, and was awarded an MSc in Community Education from the University of Edinburgh in 2010. 

Ryan has been interested in journalism from a young age and gained experience working in a newsroom at 14.

His work has since been published by The Guardian and The Financial Times.

Selena Gray

Selena, from south London, was working at a call centre when a conversation with a colleague led her to the Catch 22 academy. Here, she learnt the basics about journalism and discovered a love for vox pops.

 After spending last summer doing work experience at the South London Press she became passionate about reporting local news and realised the NCTJ qualification was the must have accessory for every budding reporter.

Selena, has undertaken work experience at The Spectator and The Telegraph.

Martin Harkin

Martin has recently completed the MA Journalism course at the University of Ulster.

Having graduated from Queen’s University, Belfast, with a degree in English Literature, Martin sought to gain relevant experience by working as an intern for Insideireland.ie. He found this period extremely valuable as it gave him the experience of working in a newsroom and provided an extensive knowledge of how reporting the news works.

Jermaine Haughton

Since completing the fast-track Newspaper Journalism course at News Associates in July, Jermaine has had work placements at the Guardian and Independent on Sunday and is currently working for Zoo magazine on a paid placement and freelancing for AskMen.com.

Tawana Joseph

Tawana, from Leicester, aspired to be a journalist from an early age.

She completed a short course in Fashion Journalism at Central Saint Martins, which led to her reporting on London Fashion Week.

She has gained work experience by writing for local newspapers and working for the BBC as a Blast Introducing Reporter.

Tiffany Joseph

Tiffany completed the Newspaper Journalism course at noSWeat Journalism Training and is now doing an internship at Sky News.

After graduating from Goldsmiths University with a degree in Communications and Sociology, Tiffany completed a nine-month stint as a junior news reporter for a local newspaper. During this time, she conducted interviews, attended press conferences and had numerous news and feature articles published.

Vicky Lamont

Vicky Lamont, from Northern Ireland, graduated in June 2009 with a degree in English from Queen’s University, Belfast. 

After graduating, Vicky gained several months work experience at a local newspaper in her area which gave her valuable experience and encouraged her to pursue a career in journalism.

Paulyn Lloyd

Wendy Oloya

Katey Pigden

Katey, from London, graduated from Brunel University in July 2009 having studied English with Creative Writing.

She undertook her first work experience placement with the London Newspaper Group at the age of 17 and has since had several placements with the Times Higher Education magazine.

Katey is now a reporter for the Pontypool Free Press.

Melvin Rao

Melvin, from Stockport, has completed a PgDip in Newspaper Journalism at the University of Central Lancashire. 

Melvin was inspired to get involved in the media industry when, at the age of 15, he spent a day with the DJ’s at his local radio station.

He is currently freelancing as a production runner for the BBC working on Rip-off Britain.
