MEMBERSHIP RATES

FACILITY AGE GUIDELINES

The following general guidelines apply to all youth who are not participating in a

supervised structured program while in the facility. Additional guidelines may apply according to each program.

Ages 9 years and younger must have direct supervision at all times by an adult.

Ages 10 - 13 years must be accompanied by a supervising adult who remains in the building. The supervising

adult does not have to be in the same area as the youth. The youth must follow age restrictions posted for

specific rooms and activities. The youth may sign themselves in and out of the program areas, if required.

Ages 14 years and older may use the facility and programs without a supervising adult. They may participate in

adult fitness classes unaccompanied by an adult. Orientation to the facility and the equipment is strongly

recommended.

YOUTH PROGRAMS Let our caring staff watch after your kiddos while you enjoy a child-free break—it’s included in your family

membership! Drop-in care is a great place for kids to release energy and make new friends in a supervised,

friendly environment. Your kids will have fun with age-appropriate toys, games and activities. Children may be

checked in for up to two hours per session and a parent/guardian must remain at the Y.

BALLET Our classes balance ballet with creative movement, teaching

children skills while also allowing them opportunities for self

-expression.

CARDIO BLAST

Our experienced YMCA staff will use creative and fun

games and activities to get your child moving. It’s a

great way to meet new friends, play games and learn

the YMCA core values. This drop-in class requires 10

participants. Sign in and out of Adventure Zone.

Cost: Included with Family Membership

Monday & Wednesday, 7:00 - 8:00pm

KIDS IN ACTION

Ages 2 - 5 years

Kids in Action is an organized play group for young

children and the people who take care of them.

During class, young children and their caregivers

participate in fun and creative activities. This drop-in

class meets in the Reflection Room.

YOUTH PROGRAMS

PARENTS NIGHT OUT Ages 3 - 11 years

Bring the kids to the Y for an evening of fun during

Parents Night Out! Kids will enjoy variety of

activities including themed activities, gym games,

swimming, Adventure Zone, arts and crafts, a movie

and dinner. Children must be potty-trained.

Second Saturday of each month, 5:00 - 10:00pm

Cost: $30 FM / $40 CM

YOUTH JAZZ CLASS

Ages 4 - 13 years

Jazz dance is full of rhythm and passion, and can be

powerful, expressive and lyrical. Dancers will learn

body isolations, flexibility and proper technique

taught with the music of today. Parents will be

asked to wait in the lobby or family center and be

invited to the final performance.

BIRTHDAY PARTIES Birthdays are a big deal at the Y and that’s why we want

you to celebrate yours with us! With a variety of party

options, there is something fun for everyone.

All of our birthday parties are two hours in length and

include party invitations, a t-shirt for the birthday child

and basic decorations. Our party hosts provide both

parents and party goers with carefree support and

leadership while you and your guests (up to 14 kids)

enjoy a fun-filled party with memories that will last a

lifetime.

Choose from a variety of parties: Zany Zone, Big Splash,

Gym, After Hours Pool and Create Your Own

Cost: $175 - $350 depending on party type and

membership.

FAMILY FUN NIGHT All ages

Family Fun Night at the Auburn Valley Y includes lots of

activities for families to enjoy together! The event is free

with your Y membership. Guests are always welcome!

FUTURE CHEFS Ages 6 - 11 years

Have a blast learning fundamental kitchen skills,

age-appropriate cooking techniques, kitchen safety and

important nutrition facts.

FIT & FUN Grades K - 5

Join us for fun morning activities before school! This

program is for school age kids that need care before

the bell rings. Program meets at the Auburn Valley

YMCA with transportation provided by the Auburn

School District. When school is not in session, No

School Day Camp will be provided.

Monday to Friday 6:30 - 8:30am

Late start Monday included in care

NO SCHOOL DAY CAMP Grades K - 5

On the days that Auburn School District is not in

session, the Auburn Valley Y offers a full-day,

fun-filled camp to keep your child active, engaged,

and having FUN! Camp provides an array of

age-appropriate activities. Each day is theme based

and may incorporate a field trip.

KARATE Ages 7+ years

Diverse styles of Karate are taught throughout the

world. In this class, kids will be learning

Shito-Ryu and Shindo Jinen-Ryu. Due to the popularity

of this program, new students are only accepted each

quarter in the beginning level class.

Beginning & Advanced: 6:30 - 7:30pm

Intermediate: 5:30 - 6:30pm

For pricing and registration, please inquire with Member

Services. Sign up begins the 15th of the month prior to

YOUTH FITNESS TRAINING Ages 10 - 13 years Participants will learn how to properly use the fitness

center equipment, fitness center etiquette and basic

fitness principles. Days and times vary.

YOUTH ACTIVITES

HEALTHY KIDS DAY®

All ages

Summer is the time for kids to get up, get out and

grow. But for some kids, exposure to activities that

stimulate the body and mind ends with the school

year. In fact, research shows that kids are prone to

gain weight and fall behind in studies. On April 29th,

the Y will celebrate Healthy Kids Day®, our national

initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids.

SPRING BASKETBALL LEAGUE

Grades K - 6

The Auburn Valley Y youth basketball program is

co-ed. In addition to learning the fundamentals of the

game through practices and game play, children will

learn valuable life skills including teamwork,

sportsmanship, and self-confidence. Children will be

drafted by coaches onto various teams. Practices will

be once a week at the Y. Parent participation is

encouraged.

AFTER SCHOOL KIDS UNIVERSITY

Grades K - 5 Kids University is an afterschool class-based

program that encourages children to learn and grow

through hands-on activities and experiences.

Classes may include, but are not limited to: cooking,

painting, swimming, small and large group games,

sports, pottery and more. The Y does not accept

DSHS funding for this program, but scholarships are

available. Auburn Valley YMCA members will receive

a discounted rate.

HOURS End of school until 6:00pm

SCHOOL-AGE CHILD CARE

Grades K - 6

When school's out, you can trust the Y to provide

an engaging experience for your child right at

school. Y School Age Programs give your child the

opportunity to get to know some of their

classmates better before and after school as they

engage in active play and collaborate on fun

projects. In the process, they'll continue to develop

the physical, educational, emotional and social

skills that are essential for success. Choose from

two program offerings below. This program is state

licensed and can accept DSHS subsidy.

TEEN PROGRAMS

TEEN LATE NIGHT Grades 6 - 12

The last Friday of every month, teens will take over the

YMCA playing basketball, ping pong, swimming in the

pool and enjoying the kitchen and the video game room.

Free to ALL youth. No membership required, but a

photo ID or ASB card is required.

Last Friday of the month, 8:00 - 11:00pm

Cost: Free and open to the community

T.W.I.S.T Ages 14 - 18

The YMCA believes that your potential and greatness

needs to be unlocked. We provide you with a chance to

put valuable life skills to good use. At each monthly

session, you will learn a new skill (resume writing, inter-

view skills, financial planning). Join us for some net-

working, life skills, games and food!

Every Monday and Wednesday, 5:00 - 8:00pm

Cost: $120 FM / $140 CM per month

COOKING STARS Ages 12 - 15 years

Tweens/Teens will take their cooking skills to the next

level by using some of the greatest recipes from today’s

best and healthy cookbooks. They will also sharpen

their age-appropriate cooking techniques and brush up

on kitchen safety while learning important nutrition

facts.

Third Tuesday of each month, 6:00 - 7:30pm

Cost: $20 FM / $35 CM

GLIDERS - HIP HOP CLASS Ages 10 - 18 years

It’s time to pop, lock, glide and slide! Learn some of the

hottest dance routines and perform for your future

fans. This class will teach and help elevate your dance

skills to greater heights. Good music, good fun and a

great experience will be a sure thing once you join!

Saturdays, 1:30 - 3:30pm

Y SQUAD Grades 6 - 9

The purpose of this group is to give teens a voice in the

YMCA. We will be creating and implementing programs,

as well as increasing volunteer opportunities for teens.

While participating in The Y Squad, teens will gain

experience in leadership and implementation of

programs and projects. Meetings will count for

volunteer hours. The first meeting is April 7. All

meetings are at the Auburn Valley YMCA.

First Friday of the month, 6:00 - 7:00pm

Cost: Free and open to the community

YOUTH & GOVERNMENT Grades 9 - 12

Participate in one of the Y’s longest running programs.

Youth & Government is a year-long activity that

empowers youth to voice their opinion and offers steps

to turn their ideas into political action. Payments will be

over the course of the year and scholarships and

fundraising will be available. Program will run from

May 2017 - May 2018. Parent info meeting will be on

May 1 from 6:00 -7:00pm.

Every Monday, 6:00 - 7:00pm

Cost: $400 FM / $450 CM

URBAN ADVENTURES Grades 9 - 12

Enjoy a night out in Seattle with the YMCA. See a movie

premiere, a concert or special event and then hang out

downtown eating and laughing about the craziness that

just happened. High school students only.

FREE PERSONALIZED WELLNESS PLAN Whether you want to take your fitness one step further or

just aren't sure where to begin, all Y members receive a

complimentary one-hour session with a healthy living coach.

This is your chance to work with an expert to create a

Personalized Wellness Plan based on your fitness level and

goals. An introduction to our facilities, programs and classes

is also included to ensure that you're set up for success.

BARBELL CLUB Age 18+ years

Barbell Club is an opportunity to learn and train with

experienced lifters and coaches. The focus is

developing technique, strength and confidence. Club

members will enjoy coached group lifting sessions,

programming advice, training workshops, group

conditioning and practice meets. Everyone is welcome,

no experience necessary.

Cost: $50 for 6 months club membership

TRI CLUB Age 18+ years

Join Tri Club to work out and train with others! Improve

your swim, bike or run times as you train your way to

your first or next triathlon. Members also receive

discounts at the Northwest Tri & Bike store and Budu

Race. All fitness levels are welcome.

Cost: $35 FM / $150 CM (Y use limited to Tri Club

activities)

PERSONAL TRAINING Age 10+ years

You will receive personalized interaction with direct

instruction that focuses on achieving realistic goals.

A nationally certified personal trainer will design

individualized workout sessions that cater to your

current fitness level and experience. Sessions are 30

or 60 minutes in length. Check with Member Services for

current specials and costs.

SMALL GROUP TRAINING Age 10+ years

Affordable and fun, small group training is done in a group

of three to five people to minimize cost while maximizing

personal attention. Small group training may be just what

you need to keep you motivated and moving toward your

health and wellness goals. Working out with friends,

family, significant others and other members, along with a

personal trainer, creates a fun and comfortable

atmosphere where you can train hard and cheer each other

on. With any fitness program, it is important that you

have the support of like-minded people, so they can

encourage you to stick with your goals and get you going

when you’re struggling. Check with Member Services for

current specials and costs.

Spring Wellness Challenge

Achieve better health while playing BINGO. Each square

has an activity to complete. Upon signing up, you will

pick up your BINGO card at membership. T-shirts will be

given out at the end. Members and community are

welcome to play!

ALOHA GROUP The Aloha Group celebrates active

lifestyles for older healthy adults.

Membership is free and open to

all active older adults with a

YMCA membership. Events include

quarterly potlucks, fun get-

togethers, as well as volunteer

opportunities.

HAPPY HANDS

CRAFT CLUB Our Happy Hands Club promotes

fiber arts through creating,

learning & fellowship. Meetings

are in the conference room on the

second and fourth Wednesday of

the month. All skill levels welcome.

Membership to the club is free

and open to everyone in the

community.

AOA GROUP CLASSES Group fitness classes that focus

on cardiovascular exercise,

strength training, balance and

flexibility—everything that active

older adults need to maintain

health and function as they age.

LIVESTRONG® AT THE Y Age 18+ years

The Y and the LIVESTRONG® Foundation have joined

together to create LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA, a

physical activity and well-being program designed to

help adult cancer survivors achieve holistic health

goals. This program is tailored to the participant based

on his/her current fitness level and will include fitness,

mind/body and nutrition components. Medical release

required. Twelve, bi-weekly classes per session.

Cost: Free and open to the community

LOSE TO WIN Age 18+ years

This YMCA weight loss program is a great way to learn

sustainable habits to eat healthier, move more, and

lose weight without gimmicks or restrictions. Meet with

a supportive group weekly for 12 weeks, then monthly

thereafter for a year-long program. Join this FREE

program today and get started on creating lasting

change!

YMCA DIABETES PREVENTION PROGRAM Age 18+ years

Join the YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program and learn

how to reduce your risk for developing diabetes, one

small step at a time. Our one-year community-based

program is designed to enable adults to make lifestyle

changes that will improve their overall health and

reduce their risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

The YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program is supported

by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the

Diabetes Prevention Control and Alliance and other

national organizations committed to preventing chronic

disease.

Cost: Covered by many insurance companies; self-pay

based on ability to pay

CARDIAC WELLNESS

Age 18+ years

If you have experienced a heart attack, stroke or

angina you know how life-changing that experience can

be. If you have been told you are at risk for heart

disease through family history or lifestyle factors, now

is a great time to reduce your risk in a friendly group

setting.

The program focuses on increasing endurance,

strength and stress reduction through cardiovascular

exercise, strength training, Tai Chi, yoga and

relaxation techniques. Your activities are monitored

by cardiac rehab nurse, Nancy Handeland, from the

Auburn Regional Medical Center to ensure safety,

build confidence and support you in leading a healthy

lifestyle.

Monday, Wednesday & Thursday, 6:30 - 8:00am

ACT! ACTIVELY CHANGING TOGETHER Age 8+ years Ready for a healthy change for your family? Looking for

ways to help your child eat well and be more active? It’s

time to ACT! The ACT! program (Actively Changing

Together), offered in partnership with Seattle Children's

Hospital, helps overweight youth and their families

establish healthy eating habits and incorporate physical

activity into their daily routines. It is an interactive,

supportive 12-week program that meets once a week

for 90 minutes. English and Spanish classes available.

A health care referral is required to enroll.

AQUATICS

Whether you are a beginning swimmer or on your way to the Olympics, the Y is a great place to make a splash!

We offer swim lessons for all ages, lap and family swim times, a competitive swimming team and low-impact

water exercise classes.

INCLUDED WITH YOUR MEMBERSHIP

LAP SWIM - Swimming provides a powerful workout that builds endurance and muscle mass, and keeps you

well toned. If you're prone to injuries from other forms of exercise, swimming is a great way to rehab while

maintaining your cardio fitness level.

OPEN SWIM - How's this for a win-win-win: your kids having a blast playing in the pool as you enjoy quality

family time and get some great exercise for yourself.

SHALLOW WATER AEROBICS - Walking, running, jumping and a variety of aerobic movements are performed

to increase the heart rate and provide a cardiovascular and strength training workout while utilizing the

water’s buoyancy and resistance.

AEROBICS 51/2 ft - Aerobic workout taking full advantage of water resistance to provide an intense

cardiovascular workout. Resistance bells and gloves are used to increase strength. Float belts are provided

for buoyancy to reduce unwanted impact.

SASSY SENIORS - Water exercise class for strengthening muscles, increasing flexibility and providing a

cardiovascular workout.

ARTHRITIS & INJURY - Class designed to emphasize range of motion, increased mobility and balance. This

class is great for those with arthritis, injury, limited mobility and anyone needing a low-impact exercise

program.

EARLY BIRDS - Water basketball (No instructor - member group).

PARENT AND CHILD SWIM LESSONS (included in family memberships) - Accompanied by a parent, infants and

toddlers learn to be comfortable in the water and develop swim-readiness skills.

SWIM LESSONS SWIM LESSONS Age 6+ months The Y is your source for progressive

swim lessons for children and adults.

The Y's eight different levels of

instruction mean that your child can begin

with the most appropriate level of caring

instruction. Adult lessons are for beginning

and intermediate level swimmers. Whether

you're just starting out or want to improve your stroke

technique, your instructor will focus on your specific

goals.

HOMEZONE - SWIM LESSONS Ages 5 - 12 years Designed for home-schooled children, HomeZone

provides a great way to create friendships and gain

confidence whether you are a beginner or an advanced

swimmer. Lessons progress through six levels. Each

class includes a half hour of swimming instruction and a

half hour of open swim. Students will be divided into

class groups by skill level on the first day of each

two-month session.

Cost: $49 FM / $77 CM for 7 classes

SWIM TEAM Ages 7 - 18 years

Enhance stroke technique, build friendships and

improve conditioning with the Auburn YMCA

Stingrays Swim Team. Compete in regular meets

and develop sportsmanship and teamwork. New

participants are invited to attend practice to determine

if swim team is a good fit.

Swim team is the next step for swimmers ages seven

and older who are able to swim 200 yards of crawl

stroke, backstroke and breaststroke. The emphasis is

on endurance, stroke development, starts, turns and

preparing for competitive swimming.

Monday - Friday, 4:30 - 5:30pm

Cost: $70 - $100 per month

(3 or 5 days per week options)
