Nutrition and Supplements, simplified.
Foundations of clinical nutrition: New functional approach to understanding inflammation and the influence of diet on healing. The impact of food on inflammation will be discussed. This includes food allergies, leaky gut and omega fatty acid balance. Take home point: clinic ready anti-inflammatory diet.
Joint Pain and arthritis: A brief review of relevant functional pathophysiology of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis will build on anti-inflammatory diet principles. The latest evidence on botanicals and nutrients that reduce inflammation and promote joint repair will be discussed. These include curcumin, omega 3 oils, MSM and glucosamine. Take home point: Clinical summary of osteoarthritis interventions.
Muscle and Nerve: A brief review of relevant functional pathophysiology of discopathy, neuropathy and muscle hypertonicity. The latest evidence on botanicals and nutrients that reduce nerve and muscle pain and promote repair will be discussed. These include lipoic acid, magnesium and L-carnitine. Dr. Emmanuel Frantzis DC, DO(MP)
Dr. Frantzis is a chiropractor and manual osteopath. Educated at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College and Canadian College of Osteopathy (CCO), he integrates a unique combination of chiropractic, osteopathy, advanced exercise and nutritional approaches. Dr. Frantzis has worked in private practice since 2001 and has been a Professor of Osteopathy at CCO since 2008. He also served as National Team Therapist for Beach Volleyball Canada (1997-2008) accompanying the team to two Olympic Games (Sydney 2000, Athens 2004). Dr. Frantzis has published and spoken internationally in the area of Osteopathic medicine.

Dr. Paul Hrkal, ND
Dr. Hrkal is a board certified Naturopathic physician. He is an expert in nutrition and supplemental treatments and has additional training and certification in intravenous and injection therapy. He has a clinical focus in concussions, cancer care, chronic pain and sports medicine. Dr Hrkal has an integrative practice in Mississauga and Vaughan and also is the chief sleep and nutrition consultant for Ryerson university athletics. He also is a strong advocate of integrative medicine and lectures across the country to both healthcare practitioners and public audiences.
Dr. Colin O’Brien, ND
Dr. O’Brien is a board certified Naturopathic Doctor with a strong focus on clinical nutrition, nutritional supplementation and sports medicine. After completing a degree in Kinesiology at Western University, he attended the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) to further his study of the human body and health. He is currently practicing in Waterloo, ON and acting as a medical advisor for Advanced Orthomolecular Medicine. Dr. O’Brien lectures regularly to public and professional audiences, while up keeping his passion for research and writing.
Dr. Mordy Levy, MD, DC, ND
Dr. Levy is possibly the only Canadian doctor that obtained 3 doctorate degrees in separate health care professions (Chiropractic, Naturopathic & Conventional Medicine) all from accredited universities. Dr. Levy is a registered member of the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO), and the College of Chiropractors of Ontario (CCO). Professional memberships include the Medical Council of Canada (MCC), The Canadian & Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND, OAND), and the Canadian & Ontario Chiropractic Associations (CCA, OCA). Furthermore, Dr. Levy has pursued Postgraduate certifications in Medical Acupuncture, Prolotherapy & Regenerative Medicine, Clinical Nutrition, Integrative and Functional Medicine.
