• What led up to it? • Excise tax -tax put on domestic products– WHISKEY!• It was the main product
of Westerners in the ORV (Ohio River Valley), who were under attack by the Native Americans
• They were MAD! BUT the tax was legit!
• Whiskey boys:So mad that they tarred and feathered the tax collectors!

• GW– Ignore– Respond*He not only sent troops, he went their too!*He led an army of 13,000
• When fighting broke out , rebels ran away!
• Result: a unifying of the country in support of the Constitution and the law
