About KMSS

Welcome to KMSS!

Over twenty-nine years ago, our four founding partners, Bruce Kenway, Ray Mack, Barry Slusarchuk and Cal Stewart believed they had the right balance of skills to build an organization that was more than just a typical accounting fi rm. Their vision of a fi rm that provided a comprehensive range of accounting, tax, and business advisory skills became what is known today as Kenway Mack Slusarchuk Stewart LLP (“KMSS”). We are a mid-sized public accounting fi rm and one of the largest independent CA fi rms in Western Canada.

Since 1986, KMSS has grown into a successful organization consisting of 14 partners and 70+ team members with offi ces in Calgary and Canmore. KMSS provides exceptional service to a diverse clientele ranging from owner-managed businesses to public companies, and from simple to complex engagements.

Our major focus over the years has been owner-managed organizations, and we are passionate about helping them build successful businesses. We work hard to serve our clients, and we hire people who will care about their businesses, and provide them with quality service.

Today we are proud to say our partners and team members remain focused and committed to our vision:

To Be a Premier Full-Service Solutions Provider.

Serving Entrepreneurs, and Small and Mid-Sized Enterprises in Calgary and the Bow Valley Corridor.

Exposure to All Types of Files

We believe our CPA candidates will have a higher chance of success on the CFE when exposed to all aspects of accounting. Our teams give our employees the opportunity to take on a variety of fi les, and each student candidate will get the opportunity to work on reviews, NTR’s, audits, and personal tax engagements.

Client Interaction

We work closely with our clients. Through direct communication with our clients, our CPA candidates learn more about our clients’ businesses and how to best serve their needs.

Open Door Policy

By grouping our partners, managers, and professional staff into teams, more collaborative, productive relationships are developed between team members. Our organizational structure provides new team members the opportunity to work with all of our Partners and Managers, giving them access to expertise in accounting, tax, and business advisory services.

At KMSS, we want you to feel like and be a valued member of our fi rm, while exposing you to the various facets of accounting through the different engagements you will see.

A Message from the Managing Partner

Dear Candidate,

Over the past fi fteen years, I have been the Managing Partner for KMSS.

Over the years, we have created a work environment where team members enjoy what they do and provide our clients with quality work and exceptional service. We strive to make KMSS a place where people enjoy coming to work each day, and we have implemented many different programs and incentives to ensure our team members’ needs are being met.

All of the Partners of KMSS are committed to continuing to be an employer of choice. For three consecutive years, we have been listed as one of Alberta’s Top Employers; an award we are all proud to have received.

We look for candidates who have a positive attitude and who are passionate about their work. We believe people who come to work with a positive attitude consistently make a positive contribution to both the work environment and the team members within it.

We look forward to meeting you and hope you consider KMSS in your career search.
