LMR cables have greater than 90 dB of isolation shielding. LMR uses aluminum tape and tinned copper. Galvanic corrosion can form over time between aluminum and tin plating that can cause deterioration of the aluminum, tin and tin plated copper wire. Deterioration can cause noise to be generated in the cable. LMR PE Foam is a closed cell foam dry nitrogen injected with much less sealing to prevent moisture incursion as compared to the M&P 3-layer dielectric sealing.
