So the U.S. went from a Confederate system under the Articles of Confederation to a Federal system

under the Constitution.

As you know..before the Constitution there was the

Articles of Confederatation.

The Revolutionary War lasted from 1775 to 1783.

Under the Articles of Confederation the country was in debt, the economy was tanking, and there were

riots and talk of rebellion .

4 years after the United States became an

independent country it was time to create the

Constitution.

..So the Constitutional Convention was called in May 1787.

George Washington is there as well as James Madison and Benjamin Franklin

The Constitutional Convention met in

Philadelphia.

Most delegates to the Convention believe there should be a stronger central government but what form should it take?
