Right, aside from toddlers (who, let's face it, complain about everything), I’ve never come across a single person who doesn’t love leather shoes. There are some people that can’t stand wearing boots, but over all, if you ask people what they’re favourite boots are, they tend to say leather (with a few UGG heads thrown in – tsk, fashionista). Today, we’re going to look at why they’re so great.

Why We Love Leather Boots:

StyleThere’s something about this style of boot that just oozes style and sophistication, especially with the skinnier boots. The thicker boots can look a bit workmen-esque, which IS cool, but you can’t exactly call it sophisticated. However, a decent pair of slimming boots, such as Mustang boots, can look incredible. They have a fantastic aesthetic.

The slimness of the boots means that they suit a wide range of clothes, but in particular, go with the smart/casual look. I don’t know about you, but the older I become, the more I gravitate towards that type of look. It’s elegant and beautiful.

leather boots are particular apt for this season. We’re still seeing a great deal of skinny jeans, and they go perfectly with this style of boots. You can even cuff or rolls your jeans and they still look awesome.

This style of boot is what we call a classic, and to this end, it suits classic looks but also modern looks, too.

Comfort: I don’t think that there’s another type of shoe or boot that’s more comfortable than leather. Now, some of you might disagree, but if you give it a try, you'll see that after a few months wear, they mould to your feet.

OK, I concede, it does take a while to break them in, and during that time they can be quite uncomfortable, but once you're over that hump, they will be the most comfortable pair of boots you’ve ever owner.

Now that I know what leather is all about, I’ll never go back to wearing synthetic boots. I’d rather spend the extra money to buy leather, and keep the boots for twice as long. in fact, it has been known for me to keep leather boots for more than 20 years – thanks Mustang boots! I’m not even joking. They’re at my parents’ house and I wear them when I go back there.

Care:Of course, you do need to look after your boots if you want them to last a long time. I regularly polish my leather shoes and boots. When you first polish a new pair of boots, if you use a colour polish, it will change the colour slightly. This can be very off putting to start with, but bear with it, because over time, what happens is that different colours emerge from the leather (not multi colours, just different tones), and it makes the leather more interesting, and in my opinion, sexy.

Have I managed to convince you to at least consider buying a pair of leather boots? I’ve somehow managed to convince myself again! If I have, then check out the collection on offer at https://www.mr-shoes.co.uk/
