The blades are made from high quality chrome-vanadium-molybdenum steel, plastic coatedand have their maximum usabletorque value printed on them.When fastening and the screw reaches the desired torque, theoperator will hear an audible clickand the tool will no longer tightenthe screw. In order to protect both the tooland the screw, all torque handleslimit the tightening torque as wellas applying a special limit to theloosening torque. This means thatwhen loosening a screw the torquewill be limited to a value that isapproximately 50% larger than thetightening torque, preventing usersfrom breaking the blade or damaging the screw.

The broad product range which isspecialised for industrial applica-tions, contains the TorqueFix®

model with a fixed torque value,the TorqueVario® with a variabletorque value but no scale and theTorqueVario®-S with an integratedwindow scale that displays the torque value numerically. The TorqueVario®-S torque screwdriveris also available for anti-staticapplications in ESD environmentsand as a VDE insulated variantfor working on live electricalcomponents.

The mechanical components of theWiha Torque screwdrivers also provide for a long tool life andrepeated usage, well above standard requirements. Each tool is specially tested andcalibrated with custom designedcalibration and marking equipment. All of our calibrationequipment is traceable to nationaland international standards. AllWiha Torque screwdrivers meet orexceed the following accuracyrequirements: - ISO 6798- BS EN 26789- ASME B107.14MAll measured values are recordedin a "Factory Calibration Certificate”, which is included withevery delivery.

The TorqueVario®-S ESD wasdeveloped for use in anti-staticenvironments and the TorqueVario®-S VDE provides safetywhen working with live electricalcomponents. All Wiha TorqueVario®-S modelshave an integrated window scalethat displays the torque value – a completely new design, which eliminates false readings. The torque value is continuouslyadjustable by using the providedadjustment tool (Torque-Setter). This prevents the torque from beingaltered unintentionally.

Fixed or variable setting of torquevalue. Depending on the intendedapplication, we recommend one ofthe TorqueFix®-Tplus models witha pre-set, fixed torque value or theTorqueVario®-STplus with scaleand a variable torque value from 5-15 Nm. In the case of the variableT-handle tool, the torque value iscontinuously adjustable on thehandle via the adjustment toolsupplied with it. The numericaldisplay of the setting value in theupper handle enables the pre-setvalue to be easily read-off in Nm;this virtually eliminates incorrectreadings.

Sophisticated mechanism.

The T-handle’s extremely light,multi-component plastic sleeveconceals a precise torque mechanism. This is sealed in anoil-lubricated bearing and is thusextremely low-wear with a longtool life. As soon as the pre-settorque has been attained, there isa clearly audible and perceptibleclick to prevent exceeding the pre-set value. As required byEN ISO 6789, the tools are accurate to within +/-6% of thepre-set scale value. To preventusers from breaking the blade ordamaging the screw when loosening the screw, the tools limitthe tightening torque, as well asapply a special limit to the loosening torque; this isapproximately 50% greater thanthe tightening torque.

The user has the option ofselecting between the modesAuto, Peak Hold and Track.• In the Auto Mode, the Peak

Value is displayed until a newmeasurement is performed. Inthis case, the integrated Auto

Reset Function automaticallydeletes the last measured value. What makes this mode special isthe automatic First-Peak/

Second-Peak detection. Thismakes possible the measurement of click-type torque wrenches as well.

• In Peak Hold mode, the maximum achieved torque value(First Peak) is held until a manual reset. Peak Hold mode isused with torque tools whenmanual zeroing is desired.

Well thought-out features.

In all three measurement methods,application-specific limit values(nominal value/tolerance) can beentered. If the limit-value functionis activated with "ON" and the desired nominal value/tolerancespecifications entered via themenu, a green LED indicates to theuser whether the measured valuesare OK. If the measured value fallsbelow or rises above the limitvalues during measurement, theLED flashes red. Measurementscan be performed in all commonunits. Either German or English canbe selected as the displaylanguage.

Extensive selection.

The selection is rounded off byadapters which are available for allcommon torque tools as well asadapter blades which are designedfor the Wiha torque screwdriver / T-handle torque tools. Wiha offersthe user an extensive and powerfulselection of products which can beused to easily perform a largenumber of torque tests and measurement tasks.

Quality in the detail.

The measurement accuracy of thetorque testers and transducers is±0.5% of the display value over theprimary measuring range. Thisallows the best measurements tobe achieved. The supplied factorycalibration certificate is traceableto national standards.

Mobile use.

Power is supplied via disposableor rechargeable batteries. Thismakes the Wiha TorqueCheckdevices mobile and independentof mains supplies. To facilitatesimple table mounting ifnecessary, the testing devices areprovided with threads in the housing base and the externalWiha transducers are providedwith mounting bore holes in thehousing base.
