Steps to ProgrammingYour Curtis Cafe PC System is factory preset for optimal performance. Usually this does not change.
Manual Liquid Dispensing ModeThisfeaturesetsuptheCAFEPCunittodispenseproductonlyaslongastheuserholdsdowntheselectedPUSHbutton.Assoonastheuserstopspressingthebutton,productstopsflowingintothecup.SettingtheunitforManualLiquidDispensewillturnoffthePortionControlDispenseMode.
Enter program mode –PressandholdtheSTOP/WASHbuttonforaboutten[10]seconds,untilallthelightsstartblinking.
To change the product throw -Pressandholdthebuttonuntilthelightstartsquickflashing.Eachquickflashincreasestheamountby10%.Releasethebuttonwhenthedesiredthrowamountisachieved.Afterreleasingthebutton,thenumberofblinksrepresentthenewsetting.
To exit powder dispensing mode - Push any other PUSHbutton.
To program the product % ratio - PressandholdtheselectedPUSHbuttonforapproxi-matelyonesecond,thenrelease.ThecurrentsettingwillbeindicatedbyLEDflashes.
Product % Ratio Thisfunctioncontrolstheamountofdryproductthatismeteredfromthehoppers.Itcanbeprogrammedfrom10%to100%ofthecapacityofthedispensingsystem.BycountingLEDflashesyoucandeterminetheproduct%ratio currentlysetforeachdispensebutton(seetable).
Portion Control Liquid Dispensing Mode Thisprogramadjustmentallowsyoutosetupthemachinetoautomaticallydispenseapresetvolumeofcappuccinoproduct.WhentheusermakesaPUSHbuttonselection,theunitdispensesonlythevolumeofcappuccinoproductprogrammedbythePortionControlDispensingMode.WhensettingtheunitforPortionControlDispensing,youlockoutthemanualdispensefeature.
Enter program mode –PressandholdtheSTOP/WASH buttonforaboutten[10]seconds,untilalllightsstart blinking.
Stop & exit –When3/4ofthecupvolumeisachieved,pressthePUSHbuttononceagaintostopdispensing.Youhavenowsetthetimingforthisbuttonandhaveexitedprogrammode.Pressingthedispensebuttonnowwillprovidetheliquidvolumethatyoujustset.Toresetthetiming,youmuststartagainbyenteringprogrammode.
To select and change the portion control dispensing volume – Whileintheprogrammingmode,pressandholdtheselectedPUSHbuttonuntiltheliquidbeginstoflow,thenrelease.Thetimingstartswhenliquidbeginstoflow.

WATER LEVEL ERROR –3LONGAND1SHORTWhenthiscodeisseenonthecontrolpanel,thereisamalfunctioninthewaterlevelcontrolsystem.
COMMUNICATION ERROR –3LONGAND3SHORTThisflashinglightpatternindicatesacommunicationerrorbetweentheswitchpanelonthedoorandthepowermodule.
TEMPERATURE SENSOR ERROR –3LONGAND2SHORTWhenthislightpatternisflashingonthecontrolpanelthereisasystemfailurewiththeheatingtank.
ERROR CODES:CurtisCAFEPCsystemscontainvarioussafetyfeaturesintheelectroniccircuitrythatshutdownthefunctionsoftheunitintheeventofasystemfailure.ErrorcodesaresignalledbytheREADYlightblinkingoneofthreepatterns:
FlushingtheWhipperChambersEverythreetofourhours,ormoreoftenifnecessary,flushthewhipperchamber/dispensingsystem.A. MakesurepowerisON.B. PressandholdtheSTOP/WASHbutton.SelectoneofthePUSHdispensingbuttonsandpress.Hotrinsewaterwillflushoutthesystem.
ReleasetheSTOP/WASHbuttonwhenthewaterrunsclear.C.Cleanupanywaterthatmayhavespilled.
CleaningA. Switchofftheunitatthepowertoggleswitch,markedCONTROL,behindtheunit.B. Wipeallexteriorsurfaceswithadampcloth;removinganyspills,dustordebrisfromtheunit.C. Removethedriptrayandlouveredscreenandwashoutitscontents.Forhardtocleandeposits,useamilddetergentsolution.D. Cleanaroundthedispensingarea,wipingwithanon-toxiccleaner.

I. Instructions for replacing a valve: A. Shutoffthewaterlinerunningtotheunit. B. Disconnectthepowercordandturnoffthetoggleswitchbehindtheunit. C. Drainapproximately½to¾gallonofwaterfromthetankbypressingoneofthedispense buttons.Thiswillinsurethatthewaterlevelisbelowthelevelofthevalves.Removethewiresand watertubingfromthedefectivevalveandpullitfromthesiliconefitting. D. Beforeinstallingthevalveonthetank,makeaninitialadjustmentwiththevalveoffofthetank. 1. Loosenthescrewonthemetalguard.Rotateawayfromtheadjustmentscrew(figure1). 2. Carefully,turntheflowadjustmentscrewclockwiseallthewayin(seefigure2).Observerestrictor position.Donotovertighten. 3. Nowturntheflowadjustmentscrewcounterclockwisethreeturns(or1½turnsfromthefully openposition). 4. Replacethemetalguard. 5. Installthevalveonthetank,attachingwiresandsiliconetube.Pressthevalvefullyintothe fittingontheheatingtank.
II. Dump valve, water flow adjustment: Thewaterflowispresettoensureoptimummixingandproperchamberrinsing.Thevalvescurrentlyinstalledonyourunithavebeenset atthefactoryandshouldnotrequireadjusting.Thefactoryflowratesettingis8oz.ofwaterin10seconds(or0.8oz./sec.).

Replacing the Film in the Light Box1.TurnOFFpowerandunplugthepowercord.2.Openthefrontdoorandremovethesixscrewsthatattachthelightbox.3.Pulloffthelightboxassemblyfromthedoor.Detachatthehookatthetopofthelightbox.4.Takeouttheoldfilm,unhookingitfromthebottomtabsandslidingitoutoftheframe.5.Insertthenewfilm,slideitintotheframeandhookitunderthetabstosecureit.6.Hookthelightboxonthefrontdoor.Frominsidethedoor,insertthesixscrewsthatwereremovedin
step2.7. Closethefrontdoor,pluginthepowercordandturnonthepower.Thelightboxshouldcomeon.8. Checkthatthefilmliesflatandthereisnolightleakingfromtheedges.
Beforemountingawhipperplate,placeadaboffoodgradelubricantintherearhole of the seal.
Whipper Plate ReplacementShaftsealsshouldbereplacedwiththegroovedsidefacingoutward.

responsibility of the equipment owner. The owner is responsible for proper cleaning and regular maintenance of this equipment.6) Damaged in transit: Equipment damaged in transit is the responsibility of the freight company and a claim should be made with the carrier. 7) Abuse or neglect (including failure to periodically clean or remove lime accumulations): Manufacturer is not responsible for variation
in equipment operation due to excessive lime or local water conditions. The equipment must be maintained according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
8) Replacement of items subject to normal use and wear: This shall include, but is not limited to, light bulbs, shear disks, “O” rings, gaskets, silicone tube, canister assemblies, whipper chambers and plates, mixing bowls, agitation assemblies and whipper propellers.
9) Repairs and/or Replacements are subject to our decision that the workmanship or parts were faulty and the defects showed up under normal use. All labor shall be performed during regular working hours. Overtime charges are the responsibility of the owner. Charges incurred by delays, waiting time, or operating restrictions that hinder the service technician’s ability to perform service is the responsibility of the owner of the equipment. This includes institutional and correctional facilities. Wilbur Curtis Co., Inc. will allow up to 100 miles, round trip, per in-warranty service call.
