OFF THE WALL

Bushwick Brings The Beat!—If you want to see what this passionate neighborhood is all about, the one event you cannot miss is happening March 10. The seventh installment of the notorious Beat Nite: Bushwick Art Spaces Stay Open Late, it’s a great chance to see what all the art buzz is about.

Beat Nite is a one-night explosion of art and culture, with everything you could hope for; emerging artists to established names, fine dinning to kegs and everything in between.

Organized by neighborhood bon vivant, Jason Andrew of Norte Maar, Beat Nite is a biannual event that has mirrored Bushwick’s rise in becoming a global culture hub.

While Beat Nite is the event for fresh and new artwork from Brooklyn there is now a Mobile Map to help you find any venue big or small. Don’t miss it!

Arts Not Fair In The Burg—Bars, restaurants and hip-sters aside, Williamsburg is an internationally renowned arts neighborhood and when the Armory Show comes to town the Burg gets to show its art cred as doz-ens of galleries and spaces open up to the throngs of art lovers.

A good mix of the rawness of Bushwick and the polish of Chelsea, Armory Show Brooklyn Night is a celebration of contemporary art and culture in a place known as the epicenter of hip.

As a special treat, neighborhood powerhouse Marisa Sage of Like the Spice will be spearheading her own version of the art fair called ARTS NOT FAIR. Expect fun and hilarity to follow.

HIPSTER ON THE STREET

Where’s Your Favorite Place to Drink Beer?Photos by MA X WERNER

Marielle ( Visiting from Brazil)I’m here only two days, and had beers at Five Leaves, and been to Hotel Delmano and Marlow & Sons—all favorites.

CraigI’m three years sober. When I did drink it was Guinness or Jack Daniels at Brooklyn Ale House. I love St. Anselm, rustic design, and style of cooking over an open grill.

Charlie’s owner (sorry we forgot to ask your name)Moved here a year ago, still exploring. I live near Dumont (Union St.), They’ve got a good selection. Barcade is fun. I drink Hefeweizen, but you’ll find me at Metropolitan with a PBR occasionally, too.

BillieUnion Pool. Six Point Beer’s Apostle IPA. It’s Union Pool’s bar brew, and only available there.

MattRadegast Beer Hall is good for group-beer-drinking. I like One Stop Beer Shop, they have a lot of really cool beers.

OliverLovin’ Cup. W hatever the bartender suggests.

LeniI live on Grand St. and go to bars nearby like Burnside, or Ontario. I’m partial to Abita beers from New Orleans.

Liora & David (From Forest Hills)We’re foodies, and come here often. Haab, phenomenal Mexican; For brunch: Pies & Thighs (fresh donuts, hash); Moto (everything great); Egg; Rabbithole. We could send you to a million and half places.

AmyRadegast Beer Hall, the Hefeweizen is what I drink.

BrittaDon’t drink, but if I do then Mezcal followed by Tequila, and then Potato Vodka mixed with seltzer water, no ice, no lime. Rye might have those, they have beautiful liquors and housemade mixers. That’s for a hard liquor kind of night.

PaulMy house. Yuengling, the oldest one in America. Don’t like to drink in bars anymore, can’t smoke, and they’re full of 22-year-old kids who don’t know George Harrison was in another band other than W heelbarrow.

StevieGood ol’ Teddy’s, and Harefield Road with friends on a Saturday. I lean towards seasonal or something sweeter than average. I default with a Stella.

IanJust discovered Spritzenhaus, and I go to The Gibson. I love Six Point beers—Righteous Rye is my favorite.

LaylaDiamond Bar. I like really bad beer, Budweiser and stuff.

MikeNot much of a beer drinker, cheap red wine. Lots of good wine stores here. Last night: Rum at Trapeze Loft. Saw Corn Mo.

Noel Corona.

Erica I love the restaurant Sea. I’l l drink Rolling Rock or Heineken. Same old.
