GeneralWinch control valves of type DMP are proportional, manu-ally operated valves with pressure compensator. They provide a sensitive and load-independent hauling in and paying out in anchor, warping and mooring winches. They basically consist of housing (1), main spool (2), pressure compensator (3) and hand lever (4).

Neutral positionAs port A and B are blocked, the oil supplied by the pump, flows from port P to T via oil passage (9).

Operated positionThe stroke of the main spool (2) and thus the flow are proportional to the position of the hand lever (4). By operating the hand lever (4), the required flow will pass P–A and B–T, or P–B and A–T.The pressure acts on both sides of the pressure compen-sator. Load pressure A and B via channel X and Y affect on spring chamber of the pressure compensator (5) and on the other side pump pressure via channel (6).The pressure difference at the main spool (2), and there-fore the flow to the actuator, is maintained constant via the pressure compensator (3). The pressure difference between port P and A (B) is determined by spring force (7) and is constant at approx. 3,5 bar.Pressure changes at the actuators or at the pump are compensated by the pressure compensator (3). The flow to the actuator remains constant even if the load varies.The maximum flow can be set mechanically and individu-ally via stroke limiter (8).

Neutral positionIn case of spool type A ports A, B, P and T are blocked. In case of spool type C ports A, B are connected to the tank line. In neutral position the variable pump is in minimum displacement to maintain the pressure.

Operated positionBasically, the function of the valve is the same as that of type DMP. In case of ring main system, variable displace-ment pump with DR control (constant pressure control) is to be used.

They provide a sensitive and load-independent hauling in and paying out in anchor, warping and mooring winches. They basically consist of housing (1), main spool (2), pressure compensator (3) and spring pack (4). DHP valves are designed for series connections of two or more valves, supplied by a constant pump.

Neutral positionIn neutral position the main spool (2) is spring centered. In case of spool type B, port A and port B are blocked, in case of spool type E, ports A, B, P are connected via oil passage (10) to the tank line.

Operated positionThe stroke of the main spool (2) and at the same time the flow rate are proportional to the remote control pressure signal given to port PP1 and PP2. When pilot pressure is supplied to port PP1 or PP2, the required flow will pass P–A and B–T, or P–B and A–T.The pressure acts on both sides of the pressure compen-sator. Neutral positionIn neutral position the main spool (2) is spring centered.In case of spool type B, ports A and B are blocked. In case of spool type E ports A, B, P, T are connected.
