THEATER PROGRESS

After a long period of renovation, the theater is finished, pending functionality testing. Currently we are holding a “soft opening” to gauge community feedback on the renovation with a series of concerts over the next few months. We would greatly appreciate any comments on the new space from the new seats to the lighting and sound, and surveys can be found at the front desk.

So far we have held our first concert in the renovated space in January and have many more shows planned for the next few months, including shows found on page 3.

We will do a grand opening of the theater at a later date, which we will announce and can be attended by anyone.

FIRE UPDATE

On December 22nd, the back end of the Winchester building was set on fire. The fire devastated the Friends of Winchester shed and rendered the dance room unusable for the foreseeable future due to damage to both the floor and the wall of the building. While this has had an impact on our classes and scheduling, all the staff and participants at Winchester have been extremely helpful during this time and we are happy to say that everyone has been able to keep their classes running smoothly.

The good news is that a project manager has been appointed by the County to oversee the repairs, and efforts to pursue restoration are underway. We will continue to keep everyone updated as changes are made or new information is made aware to us.
