Store Suggestions
Product and Product management
» WinCo distributes to stores located in Oregon, California, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, and Utah.
» Large store sizes.» Large Product Inventory» Buying in Bulk, and consumer driven products» Low product prices» Off brands» Large Target Market.
Store Accounting
» Accounting is especially difficult due to the fact the company is employee owned
» Managing the shares is especially difficult due to the employee pension plan.
» Not able to share accounting information, although an outside firm does manage the financial information quarterly.
Employee Owned
» 1985 store was bought by the employee pension program.
» Every employee owns a share of the company
» Employee purchases and motivation drives and improves shares.
» The shares are not publicly traded» Each employee takes responsibility for
the company and their shares.
Store Suggestions
» If I had any suggestions it would be for the store to open up information for the public.
» People want to feel like they are a part of a community and WinCo is not allowing that.
» A community feeling would improve business and make customers feel appreciated.
