Word reaching The Freeport News late Monday (December 10) afternoon, alleged that the Old Bahama Bay property was
shut down by authorities and employees had to vacate the premises.
Reportedly, representatives of LRA (Lubert Adler) OBB Limited, owners of the Old Bahama Bay property were on the West End premises to repossess the property from in-
vestors, Island Venture Resort Club (IVRC) which presently operates the Old Bahama Bay Resort.
A team from this daily trav-elled to West End and on arriv-al saw a number of employees outside watching, intently, as senior Royal Bahamas Police
Force officials, a local security firm as well as administrative staff of Old Bahama Bay and a representative of LRA OBB Limited engaged in discus-sions.
Following the exchange, this daily was able to speak with James Culmer, Old Bahama
Bay’s Chief Financial Officer, who revealed that while LRA OBB Limited representatives had intended to “shutdown” the OBB operation under the management of IVRC on Mon-day afternoon, they agreed to an amicable understanding and

Parker-Edgecombe:OBB issue isdisturbing
Member of Parliament for West Grand Bahama and Bimi-ni, Pakesia Parker-Edgecombe, yesterday, described the dispute between LRA (Lubert Adler) OBB Limited, owners of the Old Bahama Bay and Island Venture Resort Club (IVRC) which pres-ently operates the Old Bahama Bay Resort, “disturbing.”
After getting word that prop-erty owners were on the ground seeking to “shutdown” the re-sort, Parker-Edgecombe made her way to the premises, where officers from Candid Securi-ty were observed walking the property, apparently changing locks.
Employees of the resort were seen standing around, seemingly in fear of their employment fu-ture with the Christmas holiday mere days away.
“Out of concern we got calls from some of the employees here at the property and so we responded,” Parker-Edgecombe
