Bold Flavors From a Rugged Land
vineyards
Sourced in equal ratios from two parcels of grapes in the Awatere Valley and one from the Gibston Valley
region of Central Otago. The rolling contours of the vineyards offer significant microclimate variation, with
smaller more intensely flavored fruit on the ridges and more lush fruit in the gullies.
vinifiCation
Low-yielding Pinot Noir is picked at optimum ripeness, with each clone
harvested and handled separately. Punched down by hand for elegance and
balance; light egg white fining filters and clarifies. Minimal malolactic
fermentation, matured in second-year French oak.

At Yealands we believe that wines produced in harmony with nature offer the purest expressions of a vineyard’s terroir. As a carboNZero certified winery, we work with the land, using sheep to cut grass, windmills to produce energy, grape marc to fertilize vineyards, and harvested rainwater to irrigate vines. The result is an outstanding wine that embodies the essence of New Zealand and we hope it inspires you to think boldly, tread lightly.
