The tastings will be conducted by Sebastian Bordthäuser, highly regarded German sommelier and Wines of Tejo Ambassador for Germany. Quinta Vale do Armo About The Comissão Vitivinícola Regional do Tejo (CVR Tejo) & The Region Known in the U.S. as Wines of Tejo, this body oversees the viticultural and vinification practices of more than 80 producers from the region, which has been producing wines from native varietals since the Middle Ages. The region is located a 2-hour drive (formerly a day’s carriage ride) inland from Lisbon along the banks of the Tejo River (Tagus, in English). The Tejo River, which is the longest river on the Iberian Peninsula and the largest in Portugal, stretches from east of Madrid to the Atlantic Ocean at Lisbon; its breadth and strength elementally impact the soil and climate of the region, defining the region’s terroir.
