Around 300 guests attended this year’s People’s Choice Award, which also marked the second year of the award ceremony where 14 eligible nominees were selected to run for the 4 awards, namely: 1. People’s Choice Award 2016 2. Most Promising Entrepreneur Award 2016 3. Most Charismatic Award 2016 4. Most Stylish Award 2016 The Gala Dinner and Award Ceremony made a grand opening with the Creators and Master Mentors of People’s Choice Award, Datin Winnie Loo and Steve Wee making the red carpet appearance together with all the nominees. Wheelcorp Premium Sdn Bhd, the official car sponsor for the event has sent 4 BMWs to fetch the mentors and the nominees to the main entrance. Among the cars used were BMW X1 series, 3 series, 5 series and also the premium 7 series which fetched Datin Winnie Loo and Steve Wee.

Right after the red carpet appearance, the Gala event continued in Clarke Grand Ballroom with the band performance to signify the beginning of an exciting night. Neil Foo, the CEO of SAME (Secretariat of the Advancement of Malaysian Entrepreneurs), who was also the Guest of Honour delivered his opening speech to begin the whole ceremony. It was then followed by speech by Simon Kang, Managing Director of Suriwong, who is the Presenter for People’s Choice Award 2016. Then, it was time for the brains behind the award, Datin Winnie Loo and Steve Wee to deliver their speech to the guests. “No one is perfect, but we believe everyone deserves a chance to be extraordinary,” said Datin Winnie Loo. “Witnessing the nominees’ enthusiasm during the award campaign and how they transformed along the way were truly rewarding. That was the reason why me and Steve created this award for, to recognize only the best, who are passionate in what they do, and always strive to do more in life.”
“Indeed, when we first founded this award, we have no idea where it will lead us. But, here we are today, celebrating the success of these exceptional nominees who have achieved excellent results in their lives and careers. As the emcees announced “the dinner is served”, guests were presented with mouth-watering four-course dinner meticulously prepared by Le Meridien KL. The exclusive menu consists of: Appetiser: Asian Marinated Prawn, Rock Melon Salsa with Thai Herb, Cocktail Trust Tomato, with Passion Fruit Dressing. Soup: Moroccan Style Lentil Soup, Smoked Chicken Sausage and Mint Main Course: The choice of 8 Hour Braised Beef Short Ribs, Thai Asparagus with Roasted Garlic and Sweet Potato Orange, with Tomato Basil Salsa and Apple Balsamic Jus; or Oven Roasted Spring Chicken with Warm Mushroom Salad, Corn Pudding, with Natural jus Dessert: Chocolate Mousse with Berries Compote While the guests happily enjoyed the cuisine, they were also presented with a Nail Fashion Show video by Posh! Nail Spa, the official Nail Care for People’s Choice Award. The video brought a fresh light to the room and received favourable response from the guests. Her powerful voice instantly brought the atmosphere of the room to the max, right before the most exciting moment of the night. The Gala event reached its peak as the emcee announced the winners for the 4 awards. The room was filled with thunderous applause as the names of the winners were being called.
