2016 Week of Prayer for International Missions
December 4 - 11
Greetings Friends, This is a very special week of thanks. Personally, there are so many things that I am thankful for. I am thankful that I have the love and respect of my wife and kids. I am thankful that I will get to see my extended family over the holiday. I am thankful that Jesus saved me from the judgement my sin brought me. I am thankful for First Baptist Church Lavaca where I grew as a believer and where I received a calling to ministry. I am thankful to serve the Lord in a full time capacity at a church. I am thankful to serve this church as your pastor. It doesn't take too long to begin to feel very blessed. Every blessing that we have has been given to us as a gift and a resource to wisely steward. This week, set some time aside and consider the things that have impacted you in such a way that they have brought you closer to Jesus. As we move through this week and begin to look towards December, you will see that we have a lot of activities that will be upcoming. This coming Sunday night will be a time of fellowship and service. We will prepare for the Christmas season through a night of decoration. Each Sunday School class will have a task for the evening. There will be Christmas decorations that will go up all over our facility. Come and help us at 6:00 this Sunday night as we deck the halls. Finally, please consider what the Lord might have you give to the Lottie Moon Christmas offering. This offering goes to foreign missionaries across the world. Every dime that is given to that emphasis goes from Winnfield to the World. Our church has a goal of $12,500. There is no better investment that can be given than to the work of the kingdom of God because it is the only eternal financial investment. As always, I love you and am thankful for you. Keep Moving Forward, Pastor Steven
