She is a 2006 graduate of Southeast Regional CUNA Management School from the University of Georgia. Debbie has been a part of the credit union movement since 1976 and is a 2006 graduate of Southeast Regional CUNA Management School. She has served as President and CEO since 2014 and has helped to grow the credit union over the past 41 years serving as teller, member service representave, bookkeeper, accountant and operaons manager. When asked, Debbie stated, “I have complete confidence that Monica will connue to move this credit union forward with her insight and operaons experse. CEO Retirement and Successor Announced

In This IssueMonica has been a part of the credit union movement and with ULFCU for the past 22 years. She has served as Executive Vice President since 2014 and has served as receptionist, teller, member service representative, loan officer and operations manager. I have enjoyed working with her and our board of directors; but am excited to begin the next chapter of my life.”

The Lafayette Chapter of Credit Unions is sponsoring three $1,000 college scholarships for graduating high school seniors and currently enrolled undergraduate college or technical school students. ULFCU members that meet the criteria are eligible to apply. The application is available online at www.ulfcu.com and any branch. Deadline to apply is February 28, 2019.

Save the DateThe University of Louisiana Federal Credit Union 61st Annual Meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 11:45 a.m. in the UL Lafayette Student Union Atchafalaya Ballroom, 620 McKinley Street. Join us for lunch, prizes and Board of Directors elections. Member check-in begins at 11:30 a.m. and the meeting begins at 11:45 a.m. It is free to attend. Additional details will be announced.

Board of Directors ElectionsThree positions on the Board of Directors are to be filled. The following nominees have been submitted by the Nominating Committee: Carolyn Broussard (incumbent), Bill Crist (incumbent), and Michael Simon (incumbent).

Anyone wishing to run for a position on the Board of Directors may submit a petition that includes a statement of qualifications and biographical data. The petition must be signed by 1% of the Credit Union membership with a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 500 member signatures. Petitions must be filed with the Secretary no later than Friday, April 5, 2019. Qualifications for all candidates will be posted in the Credit Union lobby beginning Wednesday, April 10, 2019.

Board of Directors elections will be held at the Annual Meeting on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 11:45 a.m. In the event there is more than one nominee for each position to be filled, elections will be conducted at the Credit Union on May 6-10, 2019.
