Welcome to our Winter 2011 catalogue.

Thank you for all the kind comments received with the launch of the newly designed Floris for Women and Floris for Home ranges earlier this year.

Following on from this we are delighted to now be able to reveal the elegant new look for the Floris for Men and Classic Collection ranges. The decoration for the new cartons, which are made for us in England just a few miles away from the Jermyn Street Shop, is inspired by some of our most popular vintage designs throughout the eras.

We also announce the launch of two new Eau de Parfums into the Private Collection to help sustain memories of warmer weather. Sirena and Mahon Leather have both been created with Juan Floris’ native island of Minorca firmly in mind. Mahon Leather is warm and woody with a spicy leather note, while Sirena is a sensual f loral marine with a twist, inspired by the Bronze Mermaid of Mahon. As the dark nights draw in, Sirena evokes fondest summer memories.

Finally as the excitement of the festive season approaches, due to popular demand we are pleased to welcome back the newly packaged Cinnamon and Tangerine Scented Candle and Room Fragrance into the Floris for Home range for a limited time.

An eau de parfum for women which was exclusively created for the launch of The Madonna of the Almonds, the highly acclaimed novel by internationally renowned author Marina Fiorato.

Fresh zesty citrus notes of bergamot and lemon, so redolent of Italy, mingle with the delicate floral accord of almond blossom, jasmine and a hint of the bitter almond kernel. The strikingly beautiful crimson red amaryllis is a f lower that legend has it took the colour of its deep velvety petals from the blood of a young nymph’s heart in a romantic story of unrequited love. The f lower has come to symbolise pride, determination and radiant beauty and takes it’s name from the Greek word ‘to sparkle’.

Amaryllis is an oriental fragrance with a vibrant spicy heart of ‘naked lady’ lilies with frankincense, tuberose and ylang ylang cooled by soft marine tones. Patchouli, heliotrope and caramel give depth and subtle sweetness to the base accord.

First appearing in the Floris repertoire in 1860, a contemporary adaptation of this perfume was created and introduced to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Her Majesty The Queen.

The cool green topnotes of violet leaf and blackcurrant buds with the enticing soft fruitiness of fresh peaches combine with jasmine and rose entwined with exotic tuberose and ylang ylang as the radiant f loral heart unfolds and leads to the base of sandalwood, vanilla and oakmoss.

Originally created in 1890 for Russia’s Grand Duke Orloff and named ‘Orloff Special’, Special No 127 was later introduced into the Floris range having been renamed after the page in the ‘Specials’ formula book in which the recipe was recorded. The fragrance has become a favourite with many over the years – both men and women. Devoted followers included Eva Peron & Winston Churchill.

A refreshing citrus blend of bergamot and orange with petitgrain introduce the heart of neroli, lavender and geranium in this f loral cologne. Patchouli and musk add depth and character.

Rose Geranium was first introduced by Floris in 1890 when pink geranium was added to the existing Geranium fragrance.

Stephanotis dates back to the earlier days of Floris. Originally composed in 1796 by James Floris, son of founder Juan Famenias Floris, it was conceived as a result of the many society weddings taking place in the local area of St. James. Traditionally f lowers used in the bridal bouquet were assigned meanings. Stephanotis signifies happiness in marriage.

Exhilarating notes of orange blossom enlivened with the soft spiciness of carnation contrasted with a green lily of the valley accord are evocative of the intensely fragrant stephanotis blossom. The f loral heart, sustained by jasmine and coriander, leads to the base notes of sandalwood and musk.

A successful wet shave is both a ritual and an art. By following these instructions a smooth, close and satisfying shave can be achieved.

Thoroughly wash the face with hot water to cleanse the skin and soften the beard.

Dip a good quality shaving brush in hot water, shake off excess and using Floris shaving soap or cream work up a lather over the areas of the face and neck to be shaved. The process of lathering with hot water will further soften the skin and also set up the beard prior to shaving.

Shave in the direction of the beard, starting below the sideburns and working down each side of the face towards the chin, finishing at the neck.
