THE NEW PENTHOUSE SUITE
With the renovation of the Penthouse Suite on top of the Palace, all seven hotel suites shine in completely new splendour. Whilst fusing a new cosy ambiance with luxurious fabrics and warm colours alongside mountain views se-cond to none, they create a home away from home. Our interior designer Marina Nickels’ understated approach brings natural colours to the fore for an effect that is fresher and more consistent. This big-gest suite – which was origi-nally constructed over the course of two off-seasons via helicopter access – comprises three bedrooms, spacious di-ning and living areas, a sauna nestled inside the turret and a rooftop Jacuzzi that invites you to relax in a comfort and familiarity unique to the Palace.

DID YOU KNOW THAT…
…the founding father of the Palace was a secondary school teacher from Gstaad?
…the Palace was built within 20 months only?
…today’s Fromagerie origi-nally served as a bunker in the Second World War? …we have more staff rooms than hotel rooms?
…Michael Jackson wanted to buy the hotel?
…Hublot launched a special big bang limited edition for the 40th birthday of our GreenGo club in 2011?
These are just some of the anecdotes out of our 100 years GSTAAD PALACE book. Released by Zurich-based pu-blisher Orell Füssli, the grand hotel is brought to life with 100 entertaining stories and anecdotes which portray the characters that live and work within Gstaad’s landmark. a winter dayin gstaad
8.00am: They keep saying the early bird catches the worm! Start your day at the Grand Restaurant with an extensive breakfast from our buffet.
9.00am: Another way to warm up for your skiing day: The Pilates Studio at the Palace Spa run by Na-tasha Lutz follows a holistic approach to exer-cise. Each session is tailored to the individual and can range from remedial to general condi-tioning to the elite athlete or performer.
10.30am: Take up the Horneggli cable car in Schönried for a perfect skiing day – more than 105 kilo-meters of slopes are waiting for you in this area!
1.30pm: After all these sportive downhill runs it is time for a savory lunch break. Try the Lodge Burger at the Saanewald Lodge near the first stop of Saanenmöser’s cable car, but make sure to hit their ski jump airbag before!
3.00pm: Fancy more adrenaline? Take a dog-sleigh trip with Greenland dogs and Siberian Huskies up on the Sparenmoos between Saanenmöser and Zweisimmen. In winter, this area is a magnificent snow-clad fairytale landscape in which to dream, toboggan, cross-country ski or hike in the snow.
5.00pm: Time to try something new! Curling is one of the most popular winter sports in Switzerland. Gstaad’s Sportzentrum has five rinks and pro-fessional instructors to make you familiar with the slippery game.
7.00pm: The best way to relax is the popular Hammam Experience at the Palace Spa, a two hours jour-ney in a private area combining perfectly diffe-rent massage treatments with time to rest for two.
9.00pm: Feel like staying in your bathrobe? Room ser-vice is at your disposal 24/7 and offering a re-markable culinary variety. Choose from 1200 movies and TV shows in four languages to ac-company your lazy evening.
11.00pm: Tired of being lazy? In our winter season the GreenGo club is open basically every night and ready for you to hit the dancefloor!

INDIAN GOURMET WEEK AT GILDO'S RISTORANTE
Gstaad Palace is proud to host Vineet Bhatia for its traditio-nal culinary week at Gildo's Ristorante. To close our win-ter season with Indian culina-ry delights, the Bombay born chef leaves the shores of Lake Geneva where his Rasoi by Vineet restaurant is based at the Mandarin Oriental Gene-va. Bhatia is the only Indian to hold two Michelin stars and 16 GaultMillau points. His food does not conform to the norms of traditional Indian cookery - but the combina-tions, the contrasts in textures, flavours and temperatures, and the sheer expressive range of the cooking comes from Bhatia himself. Expect an ex-plosion of flavour in an inti-mate setting – reservations recommended!
