Heart and Hands 2015 Kinder Quilt
“Of all things love is the most potent,” said Maria Montessori. A Montessoriclassroom is a place of freedom and creativity, a place where nothing is “off-limits,” aplace where the heart and hands come together with joy. Your kindergartners tracedtheir hands on cloth, then were given free reign to design it:“I get to draw it however I want?”“I can use all the colors?”Happy hands took to the task, pausing now and then for inspection, and finally, setting it aside when the work was complete. The result is a kaleidoscope of brilliantcolors, each child’s hand like a window into their creative spirit. Representing over300 hours of work from volunteers, place this lovingly created quilt over yoursleeping kindergartner as you return home tonight, cuddle up beneath it with bookson a rainy afternoon, or hang it in your child’s room as a keepsake of their specialtime at MCS.
