OBSERVATIONS
19. (a) The Institute would acknowledge the efforts of Shri AVLJ Rao, Deputy
Commissioner KV Sangathan Regional Office Jammu, who took active interest in
making sure that the kendriya vidyalaya students from most schools participate in the
adventure camp. He visited the institute as part of training inspection on 19 Jun 2015.
(b) Many kendriya vidyalayas cancelled the courses at the very last moment citing
lack of funds as the reason. KV No.2, Akhnoor cancelled their course just one day prior
citing that they had not received approval from the regional office.
(c) The participants showed marked interest in learning and adopting the skills of Adventure activities.
(d) The participants improved a lot in their physical as well as mental capabilities. (e) They showed keen interest in participating in other adventure courses at JIM & WS.
(f) The participants took part in every adventure activity in a well disciplined manner and gave best of their performance.
(g) Students are keen to increase the duration of the course and to have exposure of all the sub centers. (h) Out of 58 Kendriya Vidyalaya schools approved by Deputy Commissioner, KV Sangathan Jammu region , 26 turned up to attend adventure courses at JIM & WS.
(j) The students of various Kendriya Vidyalaya schools with exposure of 10 days now want to pursue their career in mountaineering and other adventure activities as hobbies or profession.
(k) Through interaction with the students of other Kendriya Vidyalaya / schools, a sense of national integrity and brotherhood prevailed among the students of Kendriya Vidyalayas.
14
(l) A sense of environmental awareness and concern for degrading environment is developed within the students of Kendriya Vidyalayas.
(m) After completing the adventure course, it was observed that the students of Kendriya Vidyalaya had become more daring and fearless in their attitude. RECOMMENDATIONS
20. (a) It is recommended that more adventure groups be sent to JIM & WS for
adventure activities like skiing courses in winters. Hence forth for confirmation of any
special adventure course, 50% advance payment has to be deposited by the
concerned kendriya Vidyalaya in the Institute account.
(b) The strength should not be restricted to forty (40) students only, number of students from each Kendriya Vidyalaya School can be increased.
(c) It is requested that Commissioner Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan New Delhi and
Deputy Commissioner Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Jammu region make sure that
the students of all Kendriya Vidyalayas Regional Headquarters of India should be
benefited and given a chance to explore adventurous, beautiful and picturesque
topography of J&K State through adventure activities at JIM & WS.
(d) It is recommended that maximum number of students be given exposure by
sending them for adventure courses throughout the year, rather than restricting to
May, Jun & July since these adventure courses are hardly for 07 to 10 days duration.
(e) It is recommended that instead of the Institute giving the venue and dates to
concerned Kendriya Vidyalayas , the Regional Office can decide the dates and venue of
the courses for the Kendriya Vidyalaya and subsequently forward the confirmed list to
the Institute as was the case in the previous year.
(f) In case of any changes due to natural disaster or prior other commitments, the
decision on the postponement of the course and subsequent confirmation of the course
should be quickly done as there are lots of financial implications on the Institute upon
postponement of the courses & also conduction of other various courses for the
organization.
FEEDBACK
21. Photo copies of feedback by participants are attached as Appendix “D”,

CONCLUSION 23. During the Adventure camp the training was imparted to make all the Kendriya
Vidyalaya participants confident of living in Mountainous terrain, adjust with difficulties
faced during their stay away from home and to accept and adapt with different cultures.
Cultural exchange through adventure helped the participants in development of
personality, sportsmanship and character. They were also made aware of the
environmental changes and its adverse effects in future and the steps to be taken to
counter the issue. The performance of the participants validates the fact that desired
standards of exposure and training in mountain techniques were achieved.
