• 1 skein tan & white tweed yarn• 1 skein tan/gold metallic yarn

• 1 skein variegated yarn• 1 skein brown/copper metallic yarn

• Assorted beads (optional)• 1 button

siMpLe Woven purse

This little purse is made from three woven segments; front, back, and flap. The warp is a brown yarn with copper metallic threads

throughout. The front, back and flap is woven using a tan & white tweed yarn combined with a tan yarn with metallic gold and a

variegated brown yarn.

Front Segment:

Instructions

Step 1: Warp the loom using the brown/copper metallic yarn following the package instructions for warping.

Step 2: Weave with the tweed and tan metallic yarns approx. 1/3 of the loom (23-26 rows).

Step 3: For design work create “short” rows. Place a piece of contrasting waste yarn on the center warp.

Step 4: Reduce weaving by one warp until there are only 7 warps remaining. Cut yarn leaving a 5”-6” tail.

Step 5: Repeat in reverse on the other side.

Step 7: Bring in the variegated yarn and weave across the loom for several rows.Step 8: Weave back and forth throughout the “dip” area until the space is filled in; then complete weaving across the entire loom to the end.Step 9: Remove from loom and feed in the tails using a darning needle.

Step 6: Weave about 4 rows of brown metallic yarn completely across the loom packing rows down to follow the curve. Cut a 5”-6” tail.

Flap Segment:

Back Segment: The back segment is done similarly to the front segment only it is a diagonal design…”short” rows were woven on just one side.

The flap is woven as a regular unit with the exception that a buttonhole was woven into the piece. Work the buttonhole with the variegated yarn Step 1: From the right side weave to included warp 13, turn and weave back to the side. Do this weaving for approx 1” (or the size of the button). Cut yarn and leave a 5”-6” tail.Step 2: From the left side weave to include warp 14, turn and weave back to the side, match the size of the right side.Step 3: Go back to weaving across the loom.

Step 1: Place the 4-peg head on the French Knitter.Step 2: Using a strand of tweed yarn and a strand of tan metallic yarn together, knit (using package instructions) for approx. 20”. Step 3: Remove strap from knitter

Step 1: Weave in all ends. Sew the front to the back at the base of the purse using yarn and the darning needle.

Step 2: Optional-Sew beads to the base of the purse using a beading needle.

Step 5: Starting at the base sew on the strap using the darning needle and yarn. Sew strap up the sides and one half of the flap section.

Step 6: Sew on the button.

Step 3: Sew the flap to the top of the back unit

Step 4: Fold flap in half so that the buttonhole matches the front button area.

Step 1: Follow package instructions to warp, weave and remove piece using the single loom. Step 2: Complete as many squares necessary to make the scarf length desire (this scarf uses a total of 12 squares). Step 3: With darning needle sew sides together.Step 4: Using the Clover Amour Crochet, add fringe of length desired (this scarf uses 10” threads to make finished fringe 5”)**Note: fringe can be made on weaving loom by using a different warping method. Refer to package instructions.
