Equipment Type Approval (ETA) is an approval that has to beobtained from WPC before importing any wireless device in Indiawhich functions in the de-licensed frequency band. Suchequipment include products like Bluetooth devices, mobilephones, Wi-Fi technology, RFID and others.

To obtain an ETA for de-licensed frequency band devices, adetailed test report of the equipment obtained from a well-recognized laboratory has to be submitted to WPC for evaluation.We help our clients with testing of their equipment and obtainingthe test report in proper format for submission to WPC.

This presentation will address you detailed description for ETA Approval. The basicrequirements for WPC-ETA Approval are as follows:-

A) For foreign Manufacturer: All foreign applicants having no liaison office or branch officelocated in India have to appoint Authorized Indian Representative widely known as AIR.The nomination of AIR shall be varying as per followings:a) If the manufacturer has the liaison office/ branch office in India, then they will be comethe AIR.b) If the manufacturer does not have the liaison office/branch office in India butproprietor/registered user of the brand/trademark appearing on the article is located inIndia, then Brand/Trademark owner will be come AIR.c) If the manufacturer does not have a liaison office located in India and there is noproprietor/registered user of the brand/trademark appearing on the article, located inIndia then the other entity will become the AIR.

B) For Domestic Manufacturer: The domestic manufacturer can directly apply for ETAwithout nominating Authorized Indian Representative(AIR).

Documents Required For WPC (ETA) Approval For Wireless Products

1. Fee Payment Receipt.2. RF (Radio Frequency) Test Report as per applicable EN Standard.3. Product’s Technical Literature.4. Authorization Letter.5. Undertaking.6. Incorporation certificate of local representative company.7. PAN Card of local representative company.
