Wireline Calculator – December 2008 (VBA/Excel) The company this program was developed for was in the cell phone industry for AT&T. Only wireless phones were
sold by the company, but AT&T released the ability to sell home services (home phone, internet, TV) to customers as
well. These products had several different offerings that overlapped each other. Also, each offering had certain
requirements for equipment purchases and fees, and corresponding discounts and rebates. It was difficult to quote
a customer a custom solution. A program was developed to create a customer-friendly quote form programmed
with all promotional data. This program could seamlessly be used by the sales staff to print a quote for the
customer. This could also be used as practice for role playing to improve the skills of the sales staff. Without a
program, the new offerings were confusing and were not sold frequently. When the program was created, sales
volume in the company increased by approximately 500%.
This was the splash screen for the program. Some old contact information for me was blurred in this image. This screen was
loaded first to control the loading of other screens. To prevent bad quotes, this program was designed to expire and self-
destruct after a certain date.
This was the form that the program filled out as a printed quote for the customer. It can’t be demonstrated because of the self-
destruct feature. Columns A through N would print on the quote. The other columns contained buttons for different features
for modifying the quote.
This feature was a side program added. It took the numbers from the quote, along with manual input by the sales rep of what
the customer was currently paying. This sheet was used to demonstrate settings.
