The V3000 series employs our newly developed feeder designed to
further reduce makeready time by simplifying labor-intensive
adjustments and achieve greater improvement in register accuracy.
The highly reliable feeder mechanism also ensures accurate and
consistent sheet feeding under any conditions, from thin to thick stock
and at low to high speeds.
Single belt-type brush-less feeder
The feeder board now features a single vacuum hold-down belt that provides smooth sheet feeding without the use of brush and rubber rollers, eliminating the makeready task of feeder board roller adjustments. Sheet registration accuracy has been improved by reducing sheet feeding speed at the separator and sheet arrival speed at the front-lay, effectively reducing vacuum pressure on the sheet.
Sheet leaf spring blade batch adjustment
Height of the leaf spring blades is batch adjustable with a lever at the operator side, eliminating time-consuming adjustments of up to eight individual blades and allowing sheet thickness changes to be more easily accommodated.
High-speed separator
Rotational flutters and mechanical vibrations have been minimized through use of our unique torque balance cam and by optimizing the shapes of individual components. Stable sheet handling is realized when running thin or thick stock, ensuring highly accurate, high-speed feeding.
Pneumatic side-lay device
Drawing sheets to the side guide by pneumatic pressure protects the sheet printing surface. Air pressure can be easily and optimally adjusted according to sheet type and sheet thickness.
Front-lay Bernoulli device*
The front-lay Bernoulli device prevents sheet overruns even when feeding board and heavy stock. The pressure of the air stream on the sheet can be easily adjusted to meet different stock caliper, ensuring high register accuracy is continuously maintained.
Register air adjustment preset
Touch panels have been implemented for control and adjustment of vacuum air at the side-lay and air volume at the front-lay Bernoulli device. An automatic preset function, based on different sheet types and thicknesses, is incorporated. Storing air adjustment settings of special sheets or individual jobs to the IPC-III enables batch presetting for repeat jobs.

Printing Units
Printing units form an intricate part of the V3000 series and embody our pride in
high-quality printing.
The seven o’clock cylinder arrangement, high-precision ink keys, multi-mode
dampening system and various other advanced mechanical components ensure
that the press will continue to perform at the highest standards.
Furthermore, state-of-art technologies, including the SimulChanger and
multifunctional LED beams, are bringing innovation back to the printing operation.
SimulChanger*
With this automation wonder, the operator needs only to set new plates in position while the previous job is underway and then execute the plate change task from the press control console. All processes from cylinder phase adjustment to removal of old plates and mounting of new plates is accomplished simultaneously at each color in the lightning-fast time of just 38 seconds*1. The bender-less plate clamping system eliminates the need to bend the plate edge before mounting. The SimulChanger helps achieve a high production rate with multiple, short-run jobs requiring frequent plate changes.
Active stabilized inking system*
The active stabilized inking system maintains consistent temperature of the ink rollers and three oscillation rollers from start to finish of printing. This system eliminates variations in print quality due to fluctuations in ink train temperature.
Multi-mode dampening system
This system optimizes the supply of dampening solution depending on the type of image being printed, from light ink coverage to large solid ink areas. Three modes are available: the semi-AD mode for most routine color job requirements; the AD mode, suitable for print images requiring less ink; and the ITD mode*, designed for solid high gloss print images requiring heavy ink coverage. Different modes can be set at different printing units, and on-the-run mode changes are also possible.
Easier gripper shaft adjustments
Gripper shaft adjustments have been made easier by changing to torsion bar-type gripper shafts. Oil-less bearings are employed, eliminating the need to lubricate the gripper shaft. As a result, maintenance time is greatly reduced and the problem of oil contaminating the sheet surface is eliminated.
World’s first multifunctional LED beams
The multifunctional LED beam is a revolutionary new system that for the first time in the world enables the operator to monitor the press status in real time by means of different colored lights. LED strips equipped at each press section, from feeder to printing unit to delivery, flash red when the press is running on auto, green during sheet size presetting or ink key adjustment, and blue when safety devices are activated. The operator can instantly recognize the status of the press even from a distance.

Delivery
High-precision delivery and sheet stacking are realized with contact-free sheet
transfer mechanisms developed based on our proprietary air management
technology and employed to prevent markings and other imperfections on printed
sheets. The V3000 offers labor- and time-saving features along with
advancements in powder management aimed at improving productivity and
safety, reducing time for maintenance, adjustments and cleaning, and ensuring
quieter operations.
Expandable side joggers
The V3000 series is equipped with expandable side joggers that can be adjusted depending on the sheet size. The side joggers firmly position the four corners of the sheet regardless of size and ensure highly accurate sheet stacking alignment. When sheet size presets are activated, positional adjustments of the side joggers are carried out automatically, thereby saving even more time.
Integrated vacuum slowdown wheel
The vacuum slowdown wheel provides greater stopping power and steadier delivery, regardless of sheet width. Construction has been simplified in an effort to improve reliability, and positioning adjustments have also been fully automated.
Convenient delivery touch panel
The delivery section of the V3000 series features a touch panel display for easy digital setting and adjusting of delivery fans, vacuum slowdown wheel rotation speed and cam position for sheet release. By storing air adjustment values for special sheets and each job to the IPC-III, batch presetting is possible for repeat jobs.
Torsion bar chain grippers
Reliability has been further improved by changing to torsion bar chain grippers. In addition to eliminating the need to oil the grippers, powder cleaning has also been made easier.
Safety sensors
Area sensors have been incorporated into the delivery unit to meet the latest safety standards. These are designed to protect the operator from careless accidents.
Non-contact aero chamber
With the aero chamber, developed using our proprietary air management technology, each sheet is floated by air and passes through the delivery unit without coming into contact with the press surfaces. This advanced air control feature enables sheets to be conveyed with minimal flutter, preventing scratches, markings and other imperfections that impact high print quality.

* Option
Color Navigator provides highly skilled operator-like fine-tuning of colors through a revolutionary touch screen color wheel installed in the IPC-III. Highly precise color adjustment and registration functions, encompassing RGB colors as well, are included.
In the past, press makeready tended to waste numerous sheets, time and effort in reaching the OK color proof. The V3000 series incorporates a new function that brings efficiency to this process. By performing color matching with QSI (Quick Start Inking) values set according to (MCCS-e) density measurement values, approximately ten OK proofs can be obtained within two to three makeready runs with sheet waste limited to only about 100 sheets.(Subject to various conditions)
IPC-III (Intelligent Press Control III)
The IPC-III is a centralized press control operation interface containing expert software that promotes consistent high-quality printing, reduced makeready time, and the reduction of sheet waste. While outfitted with an array of monitoring programs, such as the power consumption monitoring function and ink mileage counter, and an installed learning function that correctly interprets various information necessary for operation, including real-time operation efficiency, the IPC-III is readily capable of remotely controlling the press.
MCCS-e (Color Control System)*
The MCCS-e scans and measures color strips on the printed sheet using X-Rite’s de facto standard sensor. Our original predictive control algorithm is applied in calculating the difference between measured and target values and this difference is then automatically adjusted via individual ink key settings at every unit. Extremely precise color control with real-time optimum ink key settings is achieved from job start-up to end.

Long-life LED lampsWhile the life of conventional UV lamps is approximately 1,000 hours, LED lamp life can run up to 15,000 hours, or 15
times longer (applicable from full power down to 30% output). Frequency of lamp changes is significantly lowered,
thereby reducing running cost. And because the LED lamps are ozone-free, damage to the press can be eliminated.
Ozone-less lampsSince lamps of ecoUV drying systems
use a wavelength frequency for drying
that does not generate ozone, the
press remains free from possible
ozone damage.
Lower power consumption and lower ambient temperature
Power consumption is reduced to approximately one-third compared to convent ional UV drying systems, realizing considerable energy savings. Heat generation is minimal since fewer lamps are utilized.

UV Drying Systems
UV drying systems improve printing quality and simplify the printing process by
eliminating powder spray requirements, while at the same time, improving
operating efficiency by reducing drying time. In addition to conventional UV drying
systems, the V3000 can be fitted with an LED-UV drying system that achieves
extensive energy savings and improves productivity or an ecoUV drying system
capable of drying with just one lamp, both significantly contributing to the
reduction of CO2 emissions.
