It is a wonderful oppor- tunity for us to gather and grow so that we might go into the world equipped for faithful and fruitful living as the disciples of Jesus Christ. Come be refreshed and renewed in the middle of your busy week! Offerings Beginning March 27: * A Lenten Study offered by Pas- toral Intern, Abbey Maynard, and Pastor Lauren titled Embracing the Uncertain. Lent is an invitation for us to engage in our un- certainties. We will cover topics from faith to worry to mortality. Books will be availa- ble at the first meeting. We’ll meet in Room 220 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. * A Bible study led by Pastor Mi- chael. We will cover a book of the Bible over seven weeks. More information to come. We’ll meet in Room 217 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. * A Prayer Walking Group led by Kisha Bumpers. We will combine exercise and prayer by walking a different route each week and praying for schools, gov- ernment buildings, our neighborhood along the way. Wear walking shoes. We’ll meet outside of Fellowship Hall and walk from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. Menu for the end of March and April: March 27: Baked potato bar, salad bar, assorted cakes. Kids’ meal: corn dogs. Contact Pam Lentz at 501- 329-3801 or [email protected] to reserve a spot for your children. You must RSVP in advance earlier in the week so arrangements can be made for adequate staffing. Childcare will be in the basement. New Programming to Begin at ‘The Well’ For the last week of Lent, we will observe Holy Week. This week begins with a celebration on Palm Sunday, moves through a time of grief and the remem- brance of Jesus’ suffering on the cross, and then a happy Easter morning where we see the triumph of the resurrection. PALM SUNDAY Palm Sunday in 2019 is on April 14. We will discover that even the “stones rise up and sing” as Jesus enters into Jeru- salem. In the entrance with Palms, we ex- perience the joyous demonstration of loy- alty to Jesus as he entered Jerusalem. However, we recognize that we must move toward grief to be reminded of Je- sus’ suffering on the cross. There is no triumph without suffering, no crown with- out a cross. So this service ends with the story of Jesus’ betrayal and arrest. Services will be at 8:45 and 11 a.m. in the Sanctu- ary, and 9 a.m. in the Great Hall. MAUNDY THURSDAY On Maundy Thursday – which is April 18 -- there will be an evening service at 6:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary that will in- clude Communion. Maundy comes from “mandatum novum” in Latin – meaning new commandment. On this night, Chris- tians commemorate the supper Jesus shared with his disciples before his cruci- fixion, when Jesus washed the disciples’ feet and instituted the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper. GOOD FRIDAY On Good Friday, April 19, we will recount the 24 hours that changed the world! This service will be in the Great Hall, starting at 6:30 p.m. See HOLY WEEK on Page 4 Journey With Us Through Holy Week Easter 2018

New Programming to Begin at ‘The Well’

For the last week of Lent, we will observe Holy Week. This week begins with a celebration on Palm Sunday, moves through a time of grief and the remem-brance of Jesus’ suffering on the cross, and then a happy Easter morning where we see the triumph of the resurrection.

PALM SUNDAY

Palm Sunday in 2019 is on April 14. We will discover that even the “stones rise up and sing” as Jesus enters into Jeru-salem. In the entrance with Palms, we ex-perience the joyous demonstration of loy-alty to Jesus as he entered Jerusalem. Easter Yard Signs Available April 1 As an extension of our outreach minis-tries, Conway First United Methodist Church asks our members to place invitational signs in their yard during the Easter season. The signs, which are undated and can be used year after year, are intended as an invitation to your neigh-bors and anyone passing by on your street to join us for Easter worship. Many of those who received signs for Easter 2018 kept the signs at their home for use in later years. Some returned their signs to the church for others to use in later years. This notice is two-fold: 1.) If you received a sign during distribu-tion for Easter 2018 and kept it for future use -- IT'S TIME TO PUT IT OUT! Thank you in advance! 2.) If you do not have a sign and would like one, we will have several signs available after April 1. Please contact Colleen Holt at [email protected] about getting a sign, or keep an eye out for distribution during worship on Sunday mornings.
