MOTIVATIONAL TALK TO CUBAN STUDENTS
IT’S ALL ABOUT ATTITUDE
Attitude is a tendency to respond positively or negatively towards a cer-
tain idea, object, person or situation . Attitude is a position a body or
manner of carrying ourselves.
Attitude is learnt and each day we as individuals make a choice of what
attitude we want to adopt each day. Attitude becomes a factor in the way
we treat our clients, and the way we make others feel and this is where
the problem lies.
It is not because we are unable to do our jobs properly, not about having
an old slow computer, not even about within a cramped hot office that
labels some of us as sensitive employees to the public, but it is all about
attitude.
HOW IS YOUR ATTITUDE TOWARDS OTHERS? ARE YOU ONE
OF THE PEOPLE WHO SEE A HALF EMPTY GLASS OR HALF
FULL GLASS?
AS WE MOVE TOWARDS IMPROVING OUR IMAGE AND
PROFESSIONALISM, LET US CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING:
IF YOU CANNOT BE POSITIVE, BE NEUTRAL,
BUT NEVER NEGATIVE.
uMlalazi Rabies action group
The first RAG meeting was held on the 6 July 2012
an operational plan was drawn. The objectives was to
empower the communities, to promote primary
health care and intersect oral collaboration, to im-
prove the notification / reporting system and im-
prove the animal vaccination coverage. A time frame
was set for the end of September, for implementa-
tion and completion of allocated actions for all stakeholders.
The stake holders was environmental health practitioners, infection
Prevention and control manager, school health, community health facilitators, veterinary technician and
SPCA.
Up to date two meetings were held, the school health has visited with EHP 10 schools were given health
education. The CCG’S gave feedback on the areas that was missed with the previous campaign so that the
veterinary technician can include it in their program, for August they have given 1736 vaccines in uMlalazi.
Kevin Le Roux rabies project manager gave an in-service training to the doctors on the animal and rabies.
At Eshowe hospital the staff in casualty are given health education to all the clients that come with dog
bites to ensure that they do come back for all their vaccines they are also shown videos on rabies preven-
tion. The IPCM give ongoing feedback at all the relative meetings on the progress of the rabies action
group and actions completed. She will also conduct in service training to the staff at the hospital and clin-
ics on reporting of dog bites. Other stakeholders will also be invited to the next planned meetings like the
SAPS and the protection services. The RAG group also decided that meetings will continue on a two
monthly period after the set task in the operational plan was completed
