C-USA Schedule Continues22 After a perfect 8-0 mark in the non-conference slate, Memphis opened C-USA with four-straight victories on the road. The Lady Tigers are one of three league members (UCF and Rice) that play seven road games and four home matches in league play. Houston, Southern Miss and UAB each have fi ve home and six road matches while Colorado College, Marshall and SMU have six home and fi ve road matches. UTEP, Tulsa and East Carolina have seven home and four road matches. 22 Memphis’ 4-0 start in conference play was the fi rst in program history and marks the third time a team has won four-straight games in league play. At 5-0-1 in C-USA, the Lady Tigers are off to the best start in C-USA play.

Three’s Company22 Natalia Gomez-Junco collected a hat trick in Sunday’s 4-0 victory over Tulsa. It was the fi rst hat trick since Kylie Hayes scored three goals in a C-USA Tournament match against Southern Miss in 2007. 22 The ironic feat in Gomez-Junco’s hat trick? The reserve midfi elder/forward logged 33 min-utes in the match. 22 Other tidbits of irony: Lizzy Simonin’s penalty kick goal came in the 33rd minute. Tulsa had three saves in both the fi rst and second halves and Elise Kuhar-Pitters had three saves in the second half.

National Team of the Week22 Following her hat trick performance, Natalia Gomez-Junco was named to the TopDrawer-Soccer National Team of the Week. It is the fi rst weekly accolade for the freshman midfi elder/forward.

SCOUTING UTEP22 UTEP travels to the Bluff City with a 10-3-2 mark on the season. The Miners have played nine of their 15 games at home and carry a 2-3-1 road record into Friday’s match. 22 Brittany Kindzierski paces the Miner offense with seven goals on the season and Tess Hall has added six goals and four assists. Katie Dor-man and Lauren Katada each have fi ve goals on the season and eight different players have found the back of the net this season for UTEP. 22 Sarah Dilling sports a 1.23 goals-against av-erage in 15 starts in goal. The freshman keeper has 70 saves on the year and four clean sheets.

SCOUTING COLORADO COLLEGE22 Colorado College enters week four of league play tied with Memphis atop the C-USA stand-ings with a 5-0-1 record. Overall, Colorado Col-lege is 7-4-3 on the season. The Tigers are un-beaten in their last eight matches after starting the season 1-4-2. 22 Lauren Digregorio, Kaeli Vandersluis and Britney Lyman pace the Colorado College of-fense with four goals each on the year. Eight dif-ferent players have provided goals for the Tigers this season. 22 Hanna Berglund carries a 1.16 goals-against average into the weekend play. She has seven clean sheets and 60 saves on the season.

Inside The Series22 Memphis and UTEP will clash for the eighth time on Friday. UTEP owns a 5-2 edge in the series and has won the last two meetings.

22 Colorado College and Memphis square off for the sixth time on Sunday. Colorado College claimed the fi rst two meetings in the series, but Memphis has reeled off three-straight wins.

LADY TIGERS START 13-0-122 The 13-0-1 start to the regular season is the best start in program history and the 14-game unbeaten streak is the longest in program history. The 2011 squad holds the longest unbeaten streak of 14 games, topping the 2010 and 2007 squads that were unbeaten in 11-straight matches.

AUGUST RUSH22 The U of M may be sad to see the calendar fl ip past August. In 16 seasons, Memphis is 18-5-1 all-time in the month of August and is unbeaten in the last 16 matches in the month of August dating back to the 2003 season. Since their last loss in the month of August (8/31/03-Ole Miss), Memphis has outscored its opponents 57-5.

REMEMBER SEPTEMBER22 With all the success in August in the past sev-eral seasons, what has the U of M done in the month of September? In the last four seasons, including six games this season, Memphis is 25-11-0 in the month of September.

ROC-TOBER22 Three matches into October, the Lady Tigers record has continued to improve as has been the case in the past several seasons. With Sunday’s victory over Tulsa, Memphis improved to 34-7-6 since the 2006 season in October matches. In that same span, the U of M has 31 shutouts.

BOUNCE BACK22 Since the 2007 season, Memphis has posted a 19-1-2 record following a tie or loss. Follow-ing the fi rst blemish on the record this season, Memphis bounced back with a 4-0 victory over Tulsa. In that span, Memphis has 13 shutouts in the 23 matches following a loss or tie and has outscored opponents 58-9.

CLEAN SHEET22 In the past eight matches, Memphis has held opponents to just 38 shots on goal and recorded fi ve shutouts. Since the 2008 season, Memphis has 42 shutouts and has back-to-back shutouts 15 times. The four-straight shutout streak ear-lier this season was the fi rst four-game shutout streak and the 441:25 scoreless streak by op-ponents was the longest streak in program his-tory. Goalkeeper Elise Kuhar-Pitters posted a program-best 580:36 scoreless streak that was ended at Houston on Sept. 25.

BALANCED OFFENSE22 Thus far, Memphis has scored 35 goals in 14 matches, but more importantly 11 different players have scored those 35 goals. Through 14 matches, nine different players have two or more goals. The Lady Tigers have 24 assists on the 35 goals and 11 different players have recorded assists. Seven different players have attempted 20 or more shots. The offense ranks 27th in the NCAA statistical release, averaging 2.33 goals per game.

HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE22 With an unbalanced schedule this season that has Memphis playing seven road confer-ence matches, the Lady Tigers will need to continue the recent success on the home fi eld. Since 2004, Memphis is 51-17-5 at Mike Rose Soccer Complex. Under head coach Brooks Monaghan, Memphis has a 71-32-7 mark on the home turf. Year-by-year win-loss at home under Coach Monaghan is below:
