MissionThe W.G. Watson, M.D., Women’s Center provides the highest quality of care in our community for women and their families.

The Women’s CenterMentor and NamesakeThe Women’s Center at University Hospital is proudly named for Walter Gamewell Watson, M.D. Known endearingly as “Curly” to many, Dr. Watson is said to have delivered more than 15,000 babies during his obstetrical career, but his scholarly, yet loving impact on physicians, patients and the community at large are much more far reaching. Born in 1910, Dr. Watson has been honored by presidents and featured in national magazines. He is an icon across the region and dearly loved by many at University Hospital.
