DAY 4 – CairnsImmersion into the ‘Aussie’ culture begins with a visit to the Tjapukai Abo-riginal Cultural Park where you’ll see demonstrations on hunting, localmedicines, spear and boomerang throwing, traditional dances and other as-pects of local life. Upon returning to the hotel, the afternoon and eveningare free of planned activities. Meal: B

DAY 5 – CairnsDiscover the amazing underwater world of marine life on a full day excur-sion to the Outer Barrier Reef. See colorful fish and coral through the glassbottom boat, watch a fish-feeding demonstration, snorkel, relax on the SunDeck and enjoy a presentation about the Outer Barrier Reef by the onboardMarine Biologist. DAY 6 – Cairns to SydneyAfter a morning flight to Sydney, depart on a tour of this remarkable citybuilt around one of the most spectacular harbors in the world. See the fa-mous Bondi Beach with the sparkling ocean, white sand and casual cafés inthe surrounding area. Visit Mrs. Macquarie’s Chair, a well-known land-mark, in the perfect location to photograph the Opera House and HarborBridge. After the excursion, check in to the hotel and continue exploringthe city on your own. Meal: B

DAY 7 – Blue Mountains and Featherdale Wildlife ParkToday’s excursion discovers the scenic beauty of the World Heritage ListedBlue Mountains National Park. At Featherdale, hand-feed kangaroos andwallabies, talk with the naturalist guides throughout the park, and see thenative koalas. It’s the perfect place for up-close encounters with the abun-dant native wildlife. Meal: B

Sydney’s harbor highlighted by the famed Opera House Mt. Cook, the highest mountain in New Zealand Queenstown, one of the most scenic spots in the world

DAY 8 – Sydney The day begins with a guided visit of the world-famous Opera House, Syd-ney’s most recognizable landmark. Learn about the inspiration behind themasterful architecture and see private areas inside this UNESCO WorldHeritage Site. After the visit, remain in the harbor area on your own toenjoy the lively atmosphere, or return to the hotel by coach. On the finalevening in Sydney, relax on the included sunset dinner cruise of the mag-nificent harbor. Meals: B, D

DAY 9 – Sydney to MelbourneDepart Sydney and fly to Melbourne, a cosmopolitan yet historic city. Enroute to the hotel, begin your orientation of Melbourne with a panoramictour. This afternoon is free for your independent exploration, or join theoptional excursion to Philip Island to see the ‘penguin parade.’ Meal: B

DAY 10 – MelbourneMelbourne is home to a variety of activities and sights and the day is yoursto do as you please. Visit a museum or the beautiful parks and gardens;see Captain Cook’s Cottage; wander through the historic Queen VictoriaMarket – the largest open air market in the southern hemisphere – withplenty of opportunity for souvenir shopping! Stop by Federation Square, alively cultural district with art, museums and restaurants. Visit the EurekaTower Observation Deck for fantastic views of the city or take a cruisealong the scenic Yarra River, through the heart of the city. Dinner is in-cluded this evening. Meals: B, D

DAY 11 – Melbourne to Queenstown, New ZealandThis morning it’s time to leave Australia and head to New Zealand. Afteryour flight to Queenstown, enjoy an orientation tour of the city, situatedon the shores of Lake Wakatipu and surrounded by majestic mountains.The remainder of the day is at leisure. Meal: B

DAY 12 – QueenstownToday’s adventure is a narrated cruise through the beautiful Milford Sound.As you traverse this awe-inspiring fjord, see the breathtaking drama ofsheer cliffs, massive waterfalls, glaciers and rainforest as you keep an eyeout for local wildlife… seals basking in the sun on the rocks or dolphins

frolicking in the water. Lunch is included during the excursion. Meals: B, L

DAY 13 – QueenstownWhat better way to see the snow-capped mountains, picturesque bays andscenic splendor than on an included cruise aboard the historic TSSEarnslaw. Witness nature’s majesty while cruising along Lake Wakatipuon this coal-fired vintage steamship. Having crossed the lake, visit WalterPeak Farm where you explore the grounds, see the gardens, and watch afarm demonstration by your host. DAY 14 – Queenstown to ChristchurchDeparting Queenstown, journey by coach to Christchurch. En route, stopin the town of Twizel for views of Mt. Cook – the highest mountain inNew Zealand. Continue to scenic Lake Tekapo with its amazing turquoisecolor and surrounding stunning landscapes. During your free time, makea photo stop at the Church of the Good Shepherd in it’s beautiful setting,see the town’s ‘sheepdog statue’, and enjoy lunch on your own in one ofthe cafés. Travel through the Canterbury Plains and upon arrival inChristchurch, check in to the hotel and enjoy an included dinner. Meals: B, D

DAY 15 – ChristchurchThe final day in New Zealand begins with a panoramic orientation tour.Once familiar with the surroundings, enjoy an afternoon at leisure in thisvibrant city. This evening, board one of Christchurch’s iconic restored her-itage trams for a private ride through the city center, while enjoying drinksand canapes onboard. The day concludes as you join your fellow travelersand Tour Manager for a farewell dinner. Meals: B, D

DAY 16 – Christchurch / USAIt’s time to bid ‘g’day’ to the lands ‘down under’ as you depart for theChristchurch Airport. Memories of the sites and experiences you encoun-tered, along with the hospitable ‘Aussies’ and ‘Kiwis’ you met along theway, will be cherished for a lifetime. Meal: B

Travelers Protection Plan (TPP) - $349 per person (optional)This nonrefundable fee waives all cancellation fees when we are notified of cancellation one day beforethe tour departs. If you must leave the tour early due to personal illness, illness or death of a memberof your immediate family, TPP guarantees full refund for any unused services after the departure of thetour. Other benefits include medical expenses for illness and injury, emergency transportation, 24 hourhot line, and lost or stolen baggage assistance. Return air transportation is included ONLY if your airtickets were provided by Mayflower Cruises & Tours. DAY 1 & 2 – Travel to Adelaide, Australia, from your gateway city.

DAY 3 – Arrive into Adelaide and enjoy a panoramic orientation tourbefore checking in to the hotel.

DAY 4 – After an evening’s rest, return to the airport for the flight toAyers Rock. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to the hotel.This afternoon, meet your driver/guide and set out to view the sunsetover Uluru, the massive sandstone rock formation that is one of themost impressive natural sites on the continent. This huge monolith issurrounded by natural wilderness with an abundance of springs, water-holes and rock caves. Upon arrival at the site, prepare for a breathtak-ing experience. Enjoy canapés and make a toast with a glass ofsparkling wine while witnessing the changing colors as the sun setsover this incredible landscape in the presence of the magnificent Uluru.After this magical experience, return to the hotel for an evening atleisure. Meal: B

DAY 5 – Depart the hotel early morning with your driver/guide andtravel through the desert landscapes towards Kata Tjuta, a group oflarge, ancient rock formations. These 36 sandstone domes are a sacredsite for men in the Anangu Aboriginal culture and believed to be about500 million years old. Revel in the early morning serenity and absorbthe views from the best vantage point while watching the desert comealive as the sun rises and colors change on Kata Tjuta. Walk betweenthese rock formations into Walpa Gorge as your driver/guide explainsthe significance of this sacred ceremonial site. After another incredibleexperience in the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, return to the hotelfor an afternoon at leisure. As darkness falls and Uluru is thrown intosilhouette, another adventure awaits as you attend dinner at the ‘Fieldof Light’ event – an exhibition by artist Bruce Munro where 50,000spindles of light illuminate Uluru in shades of ochre, deep violet, blueand gentle white. DAY 6 – On your final day in the Outback, depart the hotel early morn-ing with your driver/guide as he relays the history of sacred sites youpass on your way to Talinguru Nyakunytjaku – the viewing area forsunrise over Uluru. You’ll witness first light as it embraces the desertlandscape. As the sun rises, so does the incredible birdlife that callsUluru home. Listen as the birds’ songs welcome the new day and expe-rience the tranquility of nature. Continue with a visit to the base ofUluru and the Mutijulu waterhole, where stories of the local legendswill be told and add to the mystique of the area. At the conclusion ofthe visit, the coach will take you to the airport for your flight to Cairns.Meal: B
