At the touch of a button you can open/close up to fourteen blinds at once. Or up to fifteen individual Roman blinds with just one stylish remote control. Don’t think of having remote control blinds as lazy, it’s just the inevitable evolution of blinds (just like we all have a TV remote to watch TV these days). Perth Design Motorised Romans can be controlled by Acmeda Remote control, which comes with either 1 or 15 channels remote. This product does require a licensed Electrician to wire up to your home. But once installed its very easy to use and we pre program this for you. Alternatively you can have switch control. Switch controls need to be installed by an Electrician and can be added to your current light switch points or can be independent. Our Motorised Romans are also compatible with CBus or similar systems, again this would require a licensed Electrician to install the power for this preferably prior to installation. There are a few options to make your blinds more exclusive to you They come with the choice of painted aluminum battens, which run across the front and back of the blinds. Or the more contemporary look of having no battens, which has always been popular here in Perth. Roman blinds can be made in all three types of fabric, Blockout to stop heat and light, Translucent/light filtering which lets in natural light, but stops heat and glare or Sheer, which you can see through during the day, but it stops some heat UV and glare. All have their advantages and its best to take advise from our experts before deciding. The base of our Motorised Romans can either be sewn in or you can choose from a range of aluminum base rails. The battens come in the following colours- Cedar, Walnut, Black, Cotton white, Rosewood, Chrome Or no battens.

The motors run on 240v hard-wired power so you will need an electrician to install the cables prior to the blinds being fitted. Motorised Romans are made differently to a normal Roman blind as they roll on a roller tube when you press the button up/down rather than just folding up. Roman blinds stack up to around 300mm when fully open so are best fitted on the outside of your windows which we call a face fitted blind. We cannot do cut outs on Roman blinds, so if you do want your Motorised Romans installed inside the window make sure there is no obstacles e.g. skirting boards or tiles inside the window.
