WOODlife in a nutshell Background WOODlife Flooring is a Dutch flooring brand with a factory located in Lithuania. The Lithuanian based company was established in 1993, not long after Lithuania’s independence and is lead by two Dutch owners with a background in international sustainable forestry and timber technology. The core activity is the production of high quality, wide width, long length, two-layer, one-strip engineered floorboards which is sold under WOODlife Flooring brand. The main WOODlife sales office is located in the Netherlands. Next to our own production facility, we have joint ventures with a range of quality mills throughout Europe and stock additional flooring products. In this way we can be of best service to our clients and are able to offer almost everything. Multiplanks The main wood species we work with are: European ash, European oak, European douglas, Dutch elm and American black walnut. Our two-layer engineered floorboards have a single-strip top layer with a thickness up to 6.5 mm, are up to 300 mm wide and up to 4 meters long. The top layers are glued & pressed on top of first quality cross-layer water resistant Siberian birch plywood. All our oak, ash, douglas, elm and walnut top layers are carefully cut from fresh raw material and then dried at a moderate rate. As a result, the top layers keep an even colour and do not show hair cracks. The sensibility of our multiplanks due to changes in moist and temperature is therefore reduced to the very minimum.
Finishing at your wishes All flooring products offered in this brochure are unfinished. We can finish your flooring according to your wishes though: brushing, oiling, (core) smoking, staining, lacquering, aging, custom bevels, etc. Next to our exclusive DEEP Down Collection, we develop custom floor collections and private label concepts. Green Building & environment WOODlife’s multiplanks are BREAAM approved. The approval implies that the products have passed tests for all major European regulations on the presence of VOC’s and Formaldehyde in wooden flooring. Of course we can also supply our flooring FSC®-certified. WOODlife does not waste any wood. Leftovers are used to produce skirting and home decorations. The remainder as well as all our saw dust is used as fuel wood to heat the entire factory including drying kilns. Approach We like to regard you as a partner instead of a client: close contact, short communication lines and a personal, no-nonsense approach. As a small-to-medium sized manufacturer we like to be closely involved in your projects in an early stage to provide optimal support to you and your client.
“ Our flooring is not made just to be beautiful. With an eye for design and true passion for wood as a raw material,
WOODlife Multiplanks are meant to be remarkable: beautiful, reliable, durable, uncommon & environmentally friendly. “
Please find the key specifications of our products and finishing in the next chapters. For more technical info we refer to our Technical Info Sheets and Product Declarations. We hope you might be interested in our product range and are always on the look-out for long lasting business relationships. OAK RIFT & QUARTER SAWN
Straight grain
All rift & quarter sawn boards share one common characteristic: the growth rings manifest themselves on the face of the board as straight grain.
Medullary rays
Medullary rays are an important part of a tree’s biology, supplying water and nutrients as the tree grows. These large bands of radial cells, or medullary rays, emanate outward from the center of the log, similar to the spokes of a wheel. While all trees have medullary rays, they are most pronounced in the oaks and to lesser degrees in the other hardwoods. The quarter sawing process reveals the beautiful and uniquely distinctive appearance of these rays. In quarter sawn oak, a visual distinction is made between “quartered” and “rift” boards: Quartered boards exhibit the most medullary rays. Rift boards exhibit less to no medullary rays. The medullary rays literally jump off the face of the board when finished. It is this sparkle that makes quarter sawn flooring the preferred choice for architectural and design projects of distinction. Rift & Quarter sawn oak flooring in light shades is highly valued in minimalistic interiors.

3 Douglas multiplanks Douglas originates from the regions of the west coast of North-America en was introduced in Europe around 1850. The timber of the Douglas which originates from North-America is sold in Europe under the name of Oregon pine. Timber of Douglas that is grown in Europe is sold under the name ‘Douglas’. The colour of the core of Douglas is light reddish to brown-red. Douglas is, even as larch, one of the most durable coniferous wood species from European forests. After drying, the timber becomes very hard. Douglas contains raisin, which can sometimes come up even after a few years.

5 Elm multiplanks WOODlife supplies both European Wyche elm (Ulmus glabra) and also Dutch elm (Ulmus x hollandica). Please note that elm, and Dutch elm in particular, can sometimes strongly differ in look, colour and texture, depending on the origin. Most of our Dutch elm is pre-conserved under water for at least 2 years. As a result, the final product is more even in colour and also much more stable. Due to the rarity of elm raw material, WOODlife elm flooring is offered as a mixed width and Mill Run grade only (Select/Nature/Rustic and a little Robust). Lead times may vary, depending on our stock and the availability of raw material. Supplying large quantities is possible, if sufficient production time is taken into account.

6 Solid floors
6.1 SHRUNK OAK
This distinctive, solid oak floor is characterized by it’s height differences throughout the entire surface of the board. The organic surface is truly natural, which means it is not manipulated by man whatsoever. It’s a result of a crafty way of cutting old oak logs and delicate processing of the fresh cut raw material. All we have done to the surface is wire brushing it to remove any unpleasant splinters and to give it a warm, friendly feeling.
Thickness: 20-22 mm Widths: 220 mm only Lengths: 2000-2400 mm, no short lengths Grade: Rustic/Robust mix grade Open defects: unfilled Surface: natural height differences, brushed Finishings available: O-04 (Soft White), O-010a (Single Smoked Pure), O-112 (St. Antoine), O-203abcd (natural
oiled).
The available finishings are all applied by hand and are of a natural kind with a minimum of colour pigments.
6.2 WIDE SOLID OAK
No shit, just bold, wide solid oak floorboards. Available in 21x220, 25x260 and 25x300 mm wide and up to 3 meter long. Comes in a Rustic/Robust mix grade. Produced on request, starting from 200 m2.
6.3 RECLAIMED FRENCH OAK
Reclaimed oak from old, French goods carriages. The old, reclaimed boards are: de-nailed cleaned slightly wire brushed to remove stubborn dirt calibrated to a fixed width by profiling the edges for a better fitting The final reclaimed floorboards are supplied in a thickness of app 20 mm, in random widths from 120 to 200 mm and random lengths of 1500-2700 mm.

6.4 STRIP FLOORING (TAPIS)
WOODlife also produces strip flooring (called ‘tapis’ in French). Some countries, such as the Netherlands and Belgium) have long traditions in installing strip flooring. Strip flooring, pretty similar to lamparquet, is mainly used to create perfectly smooth pattern flooring. Traditionally this typical artisan product was mainly used to create custom made, complicated patterns, also called ‘art parquet’. The product was then supplied with square edges, glued and nailed to a wooden subfloor, filled & sanded and then finished on site. In the course of time, the range in dimensions of the single wood pieces has grown vastly. Nowadays we supply strip flooring for both patterns and parallel installations in widths up to 220 mm! Strip flooring can even be supplied with bevels (GO2/GO4) and prefinished. Minor height differences and tiny holes caused by the micro brats are taken for granted and are an integral part of the look and feel. WOODlife supplies strip flooring in 6.5 mm only in oak, ash, walnut. The most common sizes for herringbones are: 70 x 350 mm 90 x 450 mm 140 x 700 mm 180 x 720/900 mm

Optionally, an exterior birch plywood can be chosen as a backing. This product comes both prefinished (oiled or UV-lacquered) or unfinished. The fitting is so smooth, that one can even install a lacquered herringbone with square edges. Available in oak, ash, iroko and doussie. Sizes available: 70x490 mm 100x1000 mm 120x1200 mm (120 x 600 mm on request) 7.5 WOODLIFE BIG FLOORING

8.4 CUBES & COLUMS Wooden cubes add spice to any space or room. Next to a decorative function (they’re great eye catchers), they can be used as side table, coffee table, stool, you name it! As single pieces, or grouped together, anything goes. Our solid oak cubes are cut from big, large diameter oak trees from Baltic forests. Most of these trees are over 100 years old! The cubes can either be supplied sanded & unfinished, or factory finished in any style. Additionally we can install a set of 4 parquet friendly, sunken wheels.
Wood specie: European oak (Quercus petraea) Size: 40 x 40 x 40 cm Moisture: fresh cut wood Surface: sanded grain 120 Weight: app 50 kg.
Please note that the oak cube will show cracks in course of time due to drying. The intensity of cracking can increase during the years. Reclaimed sticker cubes During the production of top layers for our engineered wooden flooring, the fresh cut top layers are stacked on stickers before they are dried in our own kilns (heated on waste wood). Periodically these stickers need to be replaced. Instead of burning the stickers in our own oven, we’d rather turn them into these trendy floor accessories! A set of 4 parquet friendly, sunken wheels is optional.
Wood specie: misc. woods Moisture content: KD 8-10% Surface: rough Available sizes: 40 x 40 x 40 cm, 30 x 30 x 75 cm or 30 x 30 x 100 cm.

WOODlife offers a 25-year product warranty, even over under floor heating (UFH). In order to provide a warranty on our products over UFH, we need to be sure that certain installation methods and products are used. Therefore, the use of the below products is mandatory in case of UFH:
1. WOODlife PE90: permanent hard elastic SMP parquet adhesive (Bucket 15 kg) 2. Fidbox: an electronic monitoring system that measures relative humidity and temperature over time.

We use several types of (Hardwax) oils, yet prefer to work with Saicos Hardwax oils. All our own finishings have a final coat of Saicos matt or ultra matt Hardwax oil for optimal protection. For UV-cured finishings, we have a cooperation with a highly specialized, Dutch finishing factory. Except for our exclusive Through-and-through Collections which are based on core smoked oak and bog oak, WOODlife does not offer standard floor collections, since each country has it’s own trends and characteristics. Each WOODlife partner chooses their own finishings from our list of finishings available.
Duotop System Saicos offers a unique Duotop System. The ground coat consists of a natural oil or colour oil. The second coat can be chosen: Hardwax oil or lacquer (1C). Fire resistance The European fire regulations on wooden flooring are described in norm EN-13501-1 (the Euroclasses). WOODlife’s 21 mm engineered oak floorboards finished with the Rubio Monocoat Flamaway System, are granted a European Bfl-s1 class certificate according to the EN-13501-1 norm.
