SILICON VALLEY ♥s WOOSABI A new online resource for start‐up and small businesses,
masterminded in Wales, has been given the thumbs up from
Silicon Valley.
Following a visit to the global centre of hi‐tech industry where
Woosabi was invited to pitch to Redpoint Ventures, one of the
leading Venture Capital companies specializing in this specific
sector, Michael Powers, Global Revenue Development
Engagement Team Manager of Google and Lead Product
Manager of You Tube has joined Woosabi as a non executive
director and is keen to provide his help and support to launch
the business.
Exporting across the globe, this small team provides the ultimate
in cost effective and efficient customer relationship management
(CRM) software – offering more small and micro business ‐
focused features and cheaper running costs than the global
market leader salesforce.com. Woosabi allows users to Woosabi Limited | www.woosabi.com | [email protected]

streamline their day‐to‐day business management with ease
using time saving features, including contacts, invoices,
marketing tools, expenses and email management.
The team behind Woosabi – the name stems from the Japanese
cookery essential ingredient Wasabi – began their journey with
online CRM application inpractice.org and early clients included
Cardiff University, as well as universities across the UK, Ireland
and Australia. Based on this proven software platform, Woosabi
helps small companies, particularly new start‐up organisations,
to manage and grow their business with affordable, flexible and
easy to use software.
The potential of Woosabi has already been recognized by leading
UK organisations. As a result of recent presentations by
Woosabi, significant interest has been shown by large UK
companies such as BT and The Federation of Master Builders.

David Jeremiah, Business Development Director and Board
member, BT Wales recognized the business potential of
Woosabi, he said, “We work with thousands of start‐up
businesses and are only too aware of the lack of simple, easy to
use software to assist business owners with the day to day
running of their enterprises. Woosabi is the ideal solution for
them and we are keen to continue discussions with the Woosabi
team to further explore how we can work with them so our
customers can benefit.”
Much more than a CRM tool, Woosabi is a personal assistant and
organiser rolled into one. As director, Tony O’Sullivan explains;
“Four years ago, fellow director Dan Bridge and I set out to
combat the complexity and cost barriers surrounding the
products offered by traditional CRM software suppliers. Today,
in Woosabi, we believe that we have achieved our original goal,
offering easy to use, quick, affordable and flexible CRM‐plus

business software to help organisations develop and manage
existing and new customers. “
“The Woosabi team is proud to hold our product up against the
likes of Microsoft and Salesforce.com knowing that it delivers on
effectiveness, efficiency, affordability and is simple to use.”
Explaining the importance placed on making the complete
package easy to use for small business users, Tony continues:
“Woosabi was designed specifically with the smaller business
user in mind, with added features for new start‐ups, by
individuals who understand their needs first hand. There is no
need for training, the product is easy to use and updates
automatically. We don’t believe in tying people to a long term
contract, so the software is entirely flexible, as well as being
affordable.”
Word of mouth recommendations have already significantly
contributed to generating over 600 sign‐ups for the business. Woosabi Limited | www.woosabi.com | [email protected]

The feedback has been very encouraging and with the
introductory offer of a 30‐day free trial and a subsequent
monthly fee of only £7.50 + VAT per month for three users per
company, including an online support service, the Woosabi team
expects their customer base to increase very quickly.

What Our Customers are Saying
Dragon Graphics & Signs
Dragon Graphics & Signs have been designing, supplying and fitting signs and displays to businesses and organisations throughout South Wales for over 5 years.
Tony O'Sullivan, sales director, Woosabi (left) and the Dragon Graphics & Signs team
Preferring to focus on their core business activities rather than get bogged‐down in the nitty‐gritty of building their own in‐house administration software, Dragon Graphics & Signs like many other businesses were using stand‐alone software to invoice, manage customer records, plan projects etc. Although this hasn’t hindered the success of the company it was time consuming and didn’t enable them to access all the information in one place. Enter Woosabi. After scouring the market place for easy‐to‐use software to bring all their admin into one place, Rhys Harrington, the director of Dragon Graphics was told about Woosabi and it ticked all the boxes regarding their requirements.

“We’ve been using Woosabi for 6 months and really benefited from the features. Easy to use in general‐ Invoicing a fantastic system and auto filing has significantly reduced the dreaded admin. Our accountant was given access to our Woosabi account to prepare our end of year accounts, she found it really easy to use and it make her job a lot more straight forward which resulted in a smaller bill for us. We would certainly recommend Woosabi to other small businesses.

Both have a passion for food and have been planning their business for the last 18 months. They converted and refurnished a unit in Cardiff Bay into an industrial kitchen, invested in new equipment and supplies, designed and developed their marketing materials to promote the company and then opened for business. Soft Spot have been using Woosabi to help manage their day to day business functions. By entering the contact details of all their customers into Woosabi, the couple have been able to create mailing lists to keep their cake lovers informed about new recipes, flavours and promotions. “Before starting to trade, we did research the market to look for an ideal business toll that we could use to help manage our business. Woosabi was easy to learn, affordable and it really has benefitted our business. The 30 day trail enabled us to find out more about the features and signing up was a straight forward business decision.”

B & H Canvas Products Ltd Manufacturing & supplying canvas goods to industries, domestic and commercial clients since the early 90s, B&H Canvas Products’ client list is quite diverse ranging from national haulage companies to garden furniture manufacturers. The company had their own in‐house administration processes which did work for the business but required information to be repeatedly inputted into separate programmes which was time consuming and could incur errors. Initially trialing the beta version of Woosabi as it was being developed; the benefits of the system soon became apparent and helped B&H Canvas Products implement a new internal administration processes. “The ease of use of Woosabi has really impressed me. We’ve been able to add information about our customers which in turn has helped us to evaluate our own product and service offerings and introduce new ones that we could see would be of benefit to them.”

Zio Pin Pizzeria & Wine Bar Zio Pin has become a firm favourite with the residents of north Cardiff who enjoy traditional Italian home cooked dishes. Located in the heart of Whitchurch village the restaurant has been an instant hit with both the locals and those travelling from other parts of the capital following excellent reviews and word of mouth recommendations. Dominic Bertelli, owner of Zio Pin opened the restaurant in 2007 after finding the right location for his new business. It is his second restaurant so Dominic has plenty of experience with regard to making sure customers have fantastic dining experiences and providing excellent food and he was also very aware of the importance of building and maintaining his business and the series of challenges it would provide. “Content, satisfied diners are the lifeblood of my restaurants. I want to maintain the high standards we have set and welcome old customers back as well as attracting new customers. Using the Woosabi website function we now have an online presence. I have found it very easy to use, effective and the technical team at Woosabi have been very helpful.”

Industry Reviews Killer Start‐Ups A visit to this site is quite an interesting proposition for small business owners, as well as for budding entrepreneurs that can see a clearly‐defined startup in their heads yet lack the wherewithal to make it materialise. Essentially, the company provides a tool for the management and running of activities, effectively streamlining daily (and tiresome) operations, making for a more smooth experience for all concerned parties. Some of the most notable features of Woosabi include the ability to convert e‐mail messages into auto‐scheduled jobs, and a tool that allows you to track expenses in a minute way. A companion to Woosabi is also available, and it goes by the name of Kimosabi. You can download it at the site, and it makes for having synchronized access to the data you store online from a different point. As regards Woosabi itself, pricing considerations are discussed in the section that goes by the same name, but bear in mind that you can procure a trial version that will let you test it out for 30 days. This way, you can see how it fares for yourself beforehand.

App Vita – discovering web that just make life better
Woosabi might make you think of hot, green, Japanese paste that can make your eyes water but the site has nothing to do with culinary items. Woosabi is a business management platform that solves a wide variety of common problems facing business owners.
Unlike other business‐oriented websites that contain minimal functionality, Woosabi offers a number of tools – most notably, its in‐depth Customer Relationship Management tools, or CRM. These include: converting emails into scheduled job tasks, expense tracking, note taking, invoicing, plan management, and other related features. Woosabi can best be described as a tool that allows business owners to make their plan come to fruition.
Woosabi is especially useful for small and online business owners who may have less business acumen and need help with time and project management. For online businesses, Woosabi even provides web design templates and hosting tools making it much more versatile than many other websites of its kind.
