Parents!! Check the calendar for May. Your child will be
included in our awards programs. I can’t wait to see all the
honors that they will receive for their hard work this year.
We have just finished our unit on Stranger Safety. The first
and second grade students have all taken home the DVD:
“The Safe Side”. I hope all parents enjoyed watching this
very important video with your child. Any Kindergarten
parent who would like to have their child bring the DVD
home, please contact me. I would love to have you share
this experience with your child. Children spend a lot of time
in the summer in places where there are more strangers.
Through the year, Ms. Contreras’
class has been writing to Cameron
Coley, a United States Air force
Sergeant, and old time friend of
Ms. Contreras. Cameron paid a
surprise visit to the second grade
class. “The kids were in awe.” The
students were dazzled by his
“official uniform” as well as his
stories. Cameron gave each of Ms.
Contreras’ students a personal
medal for the kids to keep. “They
officially have a new hero!” -Ms.
