Wildcards
Wildcards (such as *, ?) are helpful to find word variants
[ * ] replaces 0 or more characters, e.g. at the end of a word (patent* = patent, patents, patentable, patented)
[ ? ] replaces 0 or 1 character and can be used to search with both British and American word forms (organi?ation = organisation, organization)
combinations are also possible (wom?n* = woman, women, women’s and womanhood)
