This paper describes the key results and lessons learned of the PSO funded project: Towards a workable Approach to Mainstream Gender in Natural Resources Management. In this one and a half year project (2010-2011) Both ENDS and partner organisations AMICHOCÓ in Colombia, ANCE in Togo and BARCIK in Bangladesh jointly set out to test a practical approach to mainstream gender in their work on natural resources management, each in its specific context and based on its specific ambition. The tailored step-by-step approach allows for an in-depth analysis of the gender relations in the focus area, close cooperation with gender experts and women's organisations, and for learning-by-doing. We invite all readers to provide your feedback on this paper and the tested approach, as well as your suggestions and ideas to continue working (together) on enhancing gender equality in access and control over natural resources.
