higher demands on us as importers, to control the chemicals which are prohibited

Our Code of Conduct is based on the UN Declaration of Human
Rights, the UN Convention on the Rights of Child and the ILO
(International Labour Organisation) conventions dealing with
working conditions and rights in working life. The Code of conduct
deals with the following areas:

• Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining
• Ban on discrimination
• Ban on child labour
• Ban on forced labour
• Salaries and remuneration
• Working hours
• Working environment, health and safety
• Management practice and documentation
• Environmental issues
Our responsibility begins already at the design phase when choosing materials
and finding solutions in the creation of long-lasting quality products. Besides
environmental considerations, we make ethical choices. We do not use real
animal fur in our garments. And instead of using goose down we choose duck
down, which is a left-over product from the food industry. Every choice matters,
and the company has an ongoing competence development to make even
better decisions every season.
Quality is controlled by independent consultants, who monitor our production
in order to minimize faulty products. We also have a rigorous internal quality
check, from factory visits to shipping control and inspections at our own ware-
house before delivery.
8848 Altitude has been voted ”Supplier of the Year 2010” and ”Supplier of The
Year 2013” in the leading sporting goods industry magazine Sportfack’s annual
survey among Sweden’s sports retailers. Sweden’s 100 largest suppliers are
ranked. 8848 Altitude was 2012 and 2013 ranked no 1 in ”Quality”, which is
one of seven criteria in the survey.
