Dropping a Course Please call Continuing Education Services as soon as possible to drop a class. A request to drop a course is required by the published “register by” date for a refund. Refunds Tuition is fully refundable or transferable up to the “register by” date. Our goal is to ensure the greatest opportunity for participation in cours-es; however, late registration cannot be guaran-teed and is non-refundable. If a class is can-celled due to insufficient enrollment or other unforeseeable circumstances, a full refund of tuition will be issued automatically and regis-trants will be notified. UA Cossatot reserves the right to reschedule, cancel, and appoint an al-ternate instructor for all classes. Inclement Weather In the event that the area weather is so severe the College feels that life and property may be in danger, classes may be cancelled until weather and road conditions improve. We strive to get the announcements regarding clo-sures out to students, faculty, and staff in a timely fashion. Announcements regarding College closing will be made over the follow-ing radio stations: in De Queen KDQN 92.1 and KTYC 88.5, and in Nashville KMTB 99.5 and KBPU 88.7, and on the following televi-sion stations, KARK Channel 4 from Little Rock and KTBS Channel 3 from Shreveport.

Continuing Education

Continuing Education Register Early! Courses may fill early, or be cancelled due to low registration. Continuing Education students are encouraged to register early for best course selection and availability.

Course Locations All classes are located at one of UA Cossatot’s locations, unless otherwise noted. If the loca-tion is not noted in the schedule or on your registration confirmation, you will be notified as soon as the location is assigned. If you need directions, please call Continuing Education Services at 870-584-4471.

Registration & Payment Options Payment is due on or before the “register by” date. Registrations are processed in the order in which they are received. Registration and pay-ment should be made to guarantee your place in a class. We endeavor to provide a courtesy reminder to finalize registrations. However, registrations not finalized with payment of tui-tion on or before the “register by” date may be voided, resulting in the student’s removal from the course roster. UA Cossatot seeks to provide learning opportunities for a variety of age groups. However, unless stated otherwise, students under the age of 18 will need prior approval from Continuing Education Services to register. Continuing Education classes do not qualify for the Federal Pell Grant Program.

Logging Truck Driver

Training Program

The Logging Truck Driver Training Program introduces the student to specific safety is-sues associated with being a Logging Truck Driver in a forest work environment. Upon successful completion of the course the stu-dent will have entry-level skills and knowledge to become a successful Logging Truck Driver. Offered on demand, call for class information. $450

AG Welding

This course is offered for any farmer or rancher who is interested in “on the spot” welding. No prior experience needed for this class! The content of the class will be a basic overview of welding techniques and their applications, some oxy-acetylene cutting process, and cost effective methods of weld-ing. Forklift Operator & Safety

Training

This is an 8-hour high-impact training, de-signed for novice operators, assists partici-pants in becoming an authorized forklift op-erator. Instruction includes an introduction to the truck, controls and instruments, plus the essentials of forklift safety. It covers topics that are critical to avoiding accidents and injuries, including general safety, pre-operation, operation, load handling, fuel/battery maintenance, and specialized units. Offered on demand, call for class infor-mation. Forklift Safety Training is a 4-hour high-impact training, designed for experienced operators. This instruction includes the essen-tials of forklift safety as opposed to the full 8-hour class which includes introduction to the truck and controls and instruments. Summer Floral Design

Workshop

Monica Pierce, designer and owner of Southern Girls, invites you for an inspiring floral design workshop. The class will focus on creativity, color palette development, bow making, and a 5x7 painting project. This is a unique workshop in that you will com-plete a project each night and during the last session, your projects will be combined into a beautiful summer wreath. Nursing Assistant Training

Program

This 90-hour training combines classroom in-struction, lab activities, and supervised practical training in a nursing facility. It prepares students for all aspects of nursing assisting. Phlebotomy Technician

Program

This 90 hour Phlebotomy Technician Pro-gram prepares professionals to collect blood specimens from clients for the purpose of laboratory analysis. Students will become familiar with all aspects related to blood collection and develop comprehensive skills to perform venipunctures completely and safely. Classroom and lab work includes terminology, anatomy and physiology; blood collection procedures; specimen hands-on practice; and training in skills and techniques to perform puncture methods. EMT Refresher/Transition

This 24-hour Arkansas Transitions/Refresher Course may be taken to maintain state certifi-cation as an Emergency Medical Technician or to meet the NREMT renewal requirement. Classes are a low-stress educational experi-ence designed to refresh existing knowledge and introduce new information. Course will also require an off-site activity. The National Registry of EMT’s accepts state mandated Transition Courses in place of the traditional 24 hour EMT refresher course. This comprehensive 50 hour program will

prepare students to work as a pharmacy tech-

nician in a retail or other pharmacy setting

and to take the Pharmacy Technician Certifi-
