For more than 45 years, Eastern Idaho Technical College (EITC) has served our region by providing students with high-demand workforce training options including industry recognized degrees and certificates. In May 2017, Bonneville County voters officially created Idaho’s fourth comprehensive community college, College of Eastern Idaho (CEI). In addition to the technical programs offered by EITC, CEI now offers transfer degrees for students wishing to move seamlessly to other Idaho institutions to continue their education.
Our faculty and staff are committed to the mission of CEI, “to provide open-access to affordable, quality education that meets the needs of students, regional employers, and community.t” We assist students in acquiring the knowledge, skills, and abilities to secure employment or professional advancement. We are committed to job readiness and life enrichment opportunities through the workforce training and community education programs provided on our campus throughout the year.
I’m honored to continue this important work as President of CEI. At CEI we are less interested in “who you are”, and more concerned with “who you want to become.” We are committed to partnering with you as a student to help you succeed in any educational path you choose.
CEI is the shortest distance between where you are and where you want to be.
Welcome to College of Eastern Idaho. We’re glad you’re here!
WELCOME

New Class! The Study of Music in Film
Dun dun. Dun dun. Dundun, Dundun, Dundun, Dundun! Jaws, right?
We have all experienced watching a film where the music gets to you. You become emotionally moved in fear, or joy, laughter or sadness, all through music. You know the killer is right behind that closed door, or that the heroine’s flashback of her father is a happy one relating to her current situation.
This fascinating new course, taught by an experienced score composer, will extensively study the art of film music and how vital it is in connecting with an audience. You will explore music’s role in fleshing out characters, giving tone to a scene, and developing a story arc.
Through bits of film history and examples from the silver screen, you will see how memorable film scores are made.
