Workshop Rammed Earth and Lime Tiles From 19 march until 15 april 2012, we organize a hands-on workshop on building with earth in an innovative way. In a beautiful setting, and with a motivated tutoring team trained in France by CRATerre, and in Austria by Martin Rauch and Anna Heringer, we want to share knowledge on the technique of contemporary Rammed Earth construction. For 11 millennia, mankind has shown a remarkable potential to build with earth, from housing over palaces to whole cities. Also today in numerous areas around the world, earth is the preferred construction material, accomodating more than a third of world population. In Belgium, we want to reconnect with our lowlands tradition of building with earth, but with our eyes fixed on a bright new construction future, where everyone can build. WHAT? Du 19 mars au 15 avril 2012, nous organisons un Atelier/chantier de construction en terre. Cet atelier se tiendra dans un superbe décor avec une équipe entrainée en France par le CRATerre et en Autriche par Martin Rauch et Anna Heringer. Cet atelier tient à échanger nos connaissances de techniques en construction pisé.
Depuis plus de 11 millénaires, l’humanité a déjà pu démontrer sa capacité de construire en terre; des maisons, palais et même des villes entières en sont la preuve vivante. Dans de nombreux endroits du monde, la terre est le matériau de construction préféré et elle abrite plus de la moitié de la population mondiale.En Belgique, nous allons nous reconnecter avec les traditions de construction en terre de notre «bas» pays mais avec les yeux orienté vers sur un tout nouveau futur où chacun peut construire soi- même.

Workshop ‘Rammed Earth’ en DIY kalktegels
Van 19 maart tot 15 april 2012, organiseren we een workshop over bouwen met aarde op een innovatieve wijze. In een mooie omgeving en met een gemotiveerd team getraind bij CRATerre France, en bij Martin Rauch en Anna Heringer Oostenrijk, delen we de kennis over hedendaagse ‘Rammed Earth’ constructie.
Voor 11 millennia heeft de mensheid een ontzettende mogelijkheid getoond om met aarde te bouwen, van simpele residenties tot paleizen en zelfs ganse steden. Ook vandaag, in heel verschillende contexten en gebieden, is aarde het meest gebruikte bouwmateriaal, aangezien meer dan een derde van ‘s werelds bevolking leeft in gebouwen van aarde. In België willen we de Lage Landen traditie van bouwen met aarde herontdekken, maar met onze ogen gericht naar een heldere nieuwe bouwcultuur, waar iedereen kan bouwen.

Een workshop over ‘Rammed Earth’ technieken en DIY kalktegels, met een focus op: - Voorbereiding van de werf - mixen met aarde op de site uitgegraven - het rammen van de aarde in de bekisting - integreren van isolatie in de RE muren - integreren van basis technieken in de RE muren - controleren van erosie van de RE muren - Proportie, productie van kalktegels
