Sisterhood has been created to uplift and aid in the self-development of Batswana young women and teen
girls. We believe that all girls are inherently strong, smart, and bold, and showing them that their voices
are trusted, respected, and above all, heard is a critical part of helping them stay that way in the face of
gender stereotypes and pressure to conform. Sisterhood will create and centralize resources for youngwomen and teen girls to address health, cultural, social, and economic needs through a variety of
innovative approaches, publications, programs and services. We recognize that the most effective
programs often operate at the grassroots level.
