humanitarian organization providing community development and disaster response to the World's poor in Africa, Asia, and the Americas

World Concern provides life, opportunity, and hope to suffering people around the world through disaster response and development programs. Motivated by our love of Christ, we bring hope and reconciliation to those we serve, so they may in turn share with others.

VALUES Extreme poverty and illiteracy go hand-in-hand.

That’s why World Concern is committed to making it possible for people of all ages to receive an education in some of the poorest villages in the world. We give the youth of underprivilegedcommunities a chance tobreak the vicious cycle.

PROGRAM:EDUCATION IN BANGLADESH

We aim at providing the children of Bangladesh with an education that will enable them to aggrandize their life

We give them the tools and motivation to succeed

POVERTY AND ILLITERACY GOHAND-IN-HAND

Most of the families that live under the poverty line see little hope in overcoming their economical situation

Education of children can help break the generation cycle

NEED IN THE COMMUNITY

The country’s literacy rates as low as 41%

Only 55% of the youth that is enrolled in school make it to year five (UNICEF statistics)

81% of the Bangladesh community live under the poverty line with little hope of a better life due to their lack of education

Our focuses is on education in underdeveloped societies that are in desperate need of help. One of our ongoing projects is in Bangladesh.

INPUTS We have staff from the effected areas and from

America that work tirelessly to make a change We create school facilities in rural communities

and give children a qualitative education We require supplies and funding and encourage

those who want to be part of a greater cause to help with the following: Tuition/grants/loans for a child’s higher education School supplies primarily for levels K-12 School uniforms or funding for school uniforms Text books

PROCESS Our organization searches for the most

underprivileged communities trapped in the poverty cycle.

We reach out to them by proving the youth with an education

We create school facilities and provide children with a quality education, supplies, and uniforms free of charge

We encourage them to overcome life’s obstacles by giving them mental support to achieve

If they chose to pursue a higher education beyond year 12 we offer loans and grants to fund their tuition

OUTPUTS Educational opportunities are given to more

than 2,500 children in BangladeshWe fund for these children to go to school

and give them the support needed to carry on to higher levels

We address all the areas of education needed Every year we sponsor schools for the deaf in

BangladeshProvide audiology centers that test and

consult with 1,000 people Teach 110 hearing impaired children

PERSONAL CONNECTION Thousands of families are stuck in the

poverty cycle with no escape in sight. The children in these families are born into a predestined life. I believe in giving these children a fair chance at a new life. By giving these children a quality education we are opening new doors for them to be equal citizens in their community. By helping the youth overcome their boundaries we can all make a change in the world by eventually eliminating the poverty cycle in Bangladesh and around the world.
