Overview: World Intellectual Property Day is celebrated every year on April 26 since its launch in 2001 by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The main objective of World IP Day is to raise awareness about Intellectual Property Rights, to celebrate creativity and contribution made by innovators for the development of societies across the globe and to encourage respect for IP rights. The program offers a chance to join with others to consider the contribution that the body of IP laws makes to the global community whether through the protection of innovation and technological advances; the protection of the creative arts; or the protection of brands and reputation. Nowadays, a knowledge-driven, competitive business environment, technological innovation has become a principal determinant of successful firm’s performance and playing major role to the economic development of the Country. Ordinary people are producing extraordinary new things every day, and changing the lives all over the World for the better. The Intellectual Property (IP) asset generated out of the Innovation has become a critical element in attracting investments and rewarding the creators. Hence it is important for all the industries to master in IP, exploit Intellectual Property generated from Innovation, and formulate the strategies to protect and exploit IP assets by taking proactive measures.
