The world population is the total number ofliving humans on Earthat a given time. As of
28 January 2010, the Earth's population isestimated by the United States CensusBureau to be 6,799,100,000.[1] The worldpopulation has been growing continuouslysince the end of the Black Death around1400.[2] The fastest rates ofworld populationgrowth (above 1.8%) were seen brieflyduring the 1950s then for a longer periodduring the 1960s and 1970s (see graph).
